Texas May 2019 - Day 9

Today was full of activities.  We started the morning off with kid yoga again followed by breakfast at the hotel.  Once everyone was full of food, we made our way to the ropes course where the twinkies and parents spent about an hour and a half walking on the various platforms and ropes.  DD's legs "burn from the inside" after such a full day of activities.

The kids had a great time.  T did remarkably well and B had some struggles.  Both parents also did well.  Towards the end of the activity, B lost her shoes on one of the ropes and had to wait for one of the workers to get her shoes so she could make her way back down.  A short break and she was then on her way back down.

After climbing, it was time for lunch.  The kids at first weren't hungry which soon transpired into starving.  Luckily, we had a table right beside a tv which they were once again fixated on and watched even once the food came.

Once lunch was finished (or once we decided that we were done waiting for lunch to be finished), we made our way to the hotel room for nap time.  MBMell stayed back with the sleeping kids while DD, Lola and AA went to the water park.

We did all of the indoor and outdoor tube slides, mostly doing the outdoor slides to see if the kids would be able to handle it.  They could.

After finishing our slides, the boys grabbed happy hour drinks and everyone sat outside in the shade for a few minutes before making our way back to the room to wake up sleeping kids and get ready for more pool time.

We started outside for a quick stroll through the pool and across the floating pads and finishing with a tube slide.  Then we went inside where the kiddos took turns getting to pick what they wanted to do - first up was the lazy river and then we split up for a bit while B, DD, Lola and AA went on the green tube slide.  B was so excited and had a blast on the ride, even though she got launched off the tube at the end when the exited the slide backwards and AA submarined the tube in the water.  She still came up grinning from ear to ear, full of adrenaline and ready for more.

Afterwards we went to play some basketball in the pool, over to the wave pool and then splash areas before finishing again with the lazy river.  Everyone was tired and hungry, so it was time to go back to the room for quick baths and a change of clothes and then to the restaurant for supper.

Our timing today was pretty good as the bedtime story in the lobby (which starts at 8) was at about the right time to convince the kids to hurry up and eat so that they could go to the story.  This also worked out in the adults favour so we didn't have to spend 2 hrs at the restaurant.

B and T were very excited to get their picture taken with Sammy the Squirrel, a new character they haven't seen at the hotel yet.

Now, both kids seem to be sleeping (fingers crossed) and soon the adults can play a game or two before heading off to bed so they can get up in the morning, get things packed and leave the hotel to go into Dallas and check out the museum before heading back to Austin tomorrow afternoon.
