Reno day 1

The pile of rubble that used to be our kitchen and dining room hutch:

My solution to not having a kitchen sink - using the utility sink with the old faucet:

Looks much better now that it is secured with duct tape. Sorry no photo on my phone.

The kitchen in its current state:

That's all for now. I should try to get some sleep, just got back from hockey. We lost. I scored a goal. And got an assist.

Goodnight!

#waiting

Not much to do or see in the Tucson airport so killing time at the bar.

Can't wait to get home for a week!

Tucson, it has been a while...

Today was a long(ish) day. Things started with Gwen driving me to the airport for 6:30am. From there I flew to Denver and waited there for 3 hrs before boarding my next flight to Tucson.

Once here, I got my rental car:

(Driving this Passat makes me want one even more)

I quickly grabbed a sandwich and headed over to the Bombardier facility to get 3 hrs of work "done". I wouldn't say I accomplished anything but boy they are sure happy I am here, they couldn't wait it seemed.

Tonight's plan - eat and sleep. It's going to be a busy few days here and they are already talking about the plane not being ready for Friday... It helps if they had the seat tracks they need to install as part of this inspection on Friday...  It's far too early to tell if things will be changing...

@Gwen - it feels good not wearing socks ;)

Quite the wildlife

So I decided to drop off car tonight instead of tomorrow morning before my 6:20 am flight.

As I left the hotel I saw four wild hogs wandering through the parking lot. One looked like he wanted to confront me...

Then as I'm leaving the rental car place to walk back to the hotel I see a coyote cross the street a few yards ahead of me.

Only in the desert...

Hot tubbin

One more day and then home time!  It's been a busy two weeks here in Tucson. Although I don't feel like I accomplished much I think we made some good progress while I've been down here. I feel like control has been restored but I'm certain as soon as I leave it will relapse. Oh well, only so much you can do.

Have really done much in the evenings this week. Had dinner at the hotel two nights with takeout food but allow me to take lunch the next day. Grew some new relationships with some of the engineering staff here so I'm sure that will prove to be helpful.

Here's a picture of one of the airplanes in the hangar here, apparently the owner has a Global Express which is a $50 million aircraft  - must be nice to have that kind of money:

Well I guess I should head back up to the room, the hot tub has stopped bubbling so my time is up. Don't want to overheat in a hot tub again...

Not sure if I'm looking forward to the weather back home but it will be nice to be home with family and friends again. Even if only for two nights....
