Disneyland 2019 - Day 2

We woke up at 6am this morning, to head for breakfast at the hotel, but the problem was there was a tv in the breakfast room... It was difficult for the kids to eat and be able to watch tv. We tried to keep them focused, but it was sure hard.

We walked across the street and down a sidewalk to the entrance.  It was fabulous!  We made it to the park before the gates opened, and was so exciting.  B was sure excited to see some of the Halloween decorations.

Our day was super successful, although the first 2 rides on our schedule were not open at the times we wanted, but we still made it.  It was unbelievable how many rides we did before 10 am.

Here is the list we went on:  Jumpin' Jelly Fish, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, Goofy's Sky School (2 times in a row), B, T and MBMell went on Jessi's Critter Carousel while Lola headed to Incredicoaster. We then went to Radiator Springs to Race, and then off Soarin' Across California (which is only here for a limited time).

After that we headed to Grizzly River Run. T in his typical self didn't want to go on the ride, but eventually after B and Lola headed on the ride he changed his mind. B and Lola got drenched, made friends on the raft, and quote of the ride "In it to win it!".  B was giving high fives and chatting up the fellow raft buddies.

Things slowed down a little after that.  We had Churros (well some did).  And they were free as the machine was down and they couldn't charge us! Disney Bonus!.

T then had a problem with the next ride we wanted to go on, Monster's Inc.  So we ended up getting some snacks for the adults and heading to sit in the shade to wait for the Frozen- Live at the Hyperion.  The snake was good and the show was fantastic.  The singing, dancing, sets, costumes were so well done. We headed to Monsters Inc after an emergency potty break (for MBMell).  T decided he was going to see after B and Lola already got in line, but the people in the middle were nice enough to let us go together.  Everyone enjoyed it.

After that we headed for some lunch on Pixar Pier.  Lola made the first disney fail choice on food (as they said the chicken was just spiced, but it was actually breaded).  She picked off the coating and enjoyed the coleslaw.  The other 3 had hot dogs, and chips, while we enjoyed some shade. B also ate some of Lola's chicken.

Headed to an impromptu fast pass to do Toy Story Midway Mania.  A favorite for all of us.

We finally got to go see Ariel (as the ride was closed for most of the morning).  It was nice to have some air conditioning.  The California Heat was getting to us.  And of course we headed to get some ice cream treats after the ride.  MBMell really wanted to try the Lemon non-dairy treat (like dole whip).  It was pretty good, but pretty excited for the real dole whip tomorrow!

We had supper at Flo's V8 Cafe.  One of Lola's Favourites.  Her gluten free turkey sandwich and steak fries were just as she remembered!

we then headed to Tale of the Lion King which will be done soon at the park.  The performers and songs were so good.  They told the story in 20 minutes, but hit all the highs and lows of the story.  And we all know Lola loves the Lion King!

After the Tale of Lion King we headed for one last ride on the Critter Carousel.  Then back to the hotel to sleep.

So lets talk about all the Characters we saw today, and all through the day.

Time to get some sleep, our feet are tired, over 21,000 steps (can't believe 2 - 4.5 year olds did that many steps) as we have another full day ahead of us.

See what tomorrow brings!

Disneyland 2019 - Day 1

So...... MBMell and Lola met in California for a little adventure over the Labour Day weekend. It has been a tradition that Lola usually went to Texas, so we mixed things up a little.  It is our birthdays coming up, so we are treating ourselves a little early. #parasitevacay2019

AA was nice enough to get me a cab for 9am this morning to head to the airport. I had way too much time, as there was no one through security and barely anyone at customs.

Flight to Minneapolis was pretty standard, except my bag didn't fit in the overhead, so had to gate check it.  I was worried as I only had 31 minutes to get from one gate to the other in Minneapolis.  It worked out just fine, but I did run gate C to Gate G.  When I got to the gate, it was boarding, so I circled, went to the washroom and tried to get some food.  Well 2 boiled eggs, bag of chips and a berry fruit cup were purchased, and headed on the plane.

On the plane I had the sweetest lady who hadn't flown much.  I helped her get her phone on Airplane mode, as well as answered many questions.  Her daughter was actually in labour, so the airplane couldn't go fast enough.  Once landed I helped her find a cab. I didn't actually even get her name, but she gave me a hug as she was so grateful of all the help I gave her during the 4 hour flight.

Once landed, MBMell was to meet me at Terminal 2.  We texted back and forth and eventually Lola found them in the bathroom :)  B and T were excited to see me in the bathroom when I found them.

We then headed to catch the Disneyland Express.  It was sure nice not to have to haul carseats!

Waiting for the bus took about 40 minutes.  The drive was pretty long, as there were many accidents along the way, but we finally made it to our hotel, where it dropped us off right at the door :).

Dropped our bags in our room and headed to supper as it was almost 9 Central time by the time we got here. B loved the air from the air conditioner.

Walked to Denny's just down the street.  We drew pictures, ate food and enjoyed each others company.

After supper we headed to the drug store to pick up some snacks/drinks and to give the kids a chance to walk around (as they had been on an airplane and bus for majority of the day).

On our walk we even saw a little mouse doing circles on the sidewalk.  It was pretty darn cute, and B was sure excited to see a Mouse.  She said she was surprised at how big it was, and laughed at the girls that were screaming as they walked passed it.  (it wasn't us).

Once back at the hotel, kids got ready for bed, and snuggled in.  B feel asleep much faster than T, but they went to bed quite well.  MBMell and Lola, reviewed plans for tomorrow, and just chatted about life!  We should likely go to bed.  We are pretty excited that we are a 5 minute walk from the park, but still an early day tomorrow.

Till tomorrow,

Lola
