Things I learned from Gwen

- how to cook better
- to read food labels and ingredients
- to listen carefully to all the instructions
- that a kitchen can never be too small
- traveling is fun!  I already knew that but it's twice as fun with someone you love.
- how to track your money and impress the bank with the little amount of debt you have
- road construction terminology
- how to be (more of) a social butterfly
- that you can never record enough tv to watch (in my opinion yes you can have too much tv to watch, especially the bachelor(ette) )
- that sleeping to the last possible minute before work is ok (and that you can get ready in less than 10 mins. Ok, me not so much but pretty close)
- that you can never have too much tea selection in the house. Even when I was by myself in Montreal I had 6 different types of tea.
- matching and folding socks is my job
- and most important of all, how to cuddle

What else I've learned

This type of post has been a hit so here are a few others:

What I've learned from my inlaws:
- a penny saved is a penny earned
- you can never have enough siran wrap or cake mixes
- it's every man for themselves when playing card games
- how to cook (for lots of people)
- sometimes all you need is a little elbow grease

From my grandparents:
- how to skate and shoot
- keep your cards hidden and sit to the right of my grandpa when playing cards (yes another card game rule)

From my brothers:
- friends and enemies can change in a matter of minutes
- how to be a mediator

What I learned from my mom

I guess I shouldn't limit my blogging to only be for my dad so here are a few things I learned from mom:

- cooking and cleaning are important life skills. I'm not the best at either but I can get by.
- it's never too late to follow your life goals.
- a little hard work doesn't go unnoticed.
- remember your P's and Q's.
- how to run. ;)

These are just a few of the many things. I don't know if my blog could handle everything that I have learned from everyone I know... That is a lot...

What Dad taught me

Reading my popular mechanics magazine and they had a section on what people learned front their dads.

The one thing that resonates with me is:

Go to school and learn. Be the person who makes $100 an hour with your brain not your body. That will be success.

This has always stuck with me.

Thanks Dad!

Off to QC

I forgot to blog on the last flight but have a few mins before leaving Toronto to go to Quebec City for a meeting tomorrow.

Has a good weekend this weekend but it was much too short. It doesn't help when you have to leave at 2:20 to start your flights...

The reunion yesterday was really good. Saw some people who I hadn't seen in a while but for the most part the "usuals" were there. It was nice to catch up with many people and see what they have been up to lately. It feels like just last year that we were in high school, not 10 years ago.  How time flies.

Well phone has to be shutoff soon. I'm curious how many people will actually see this blog before I return;)
