Nashville #jamieturns32 - day 5

Today was our last day in Nashville, and J's birthday!  We have had a great trip!  We went out for breakfast at "another broken egg cafe", where E didn't eat too much as he and Adam finished off the bottle of bourbon last night.

Our condo.

Breakfast was ok.  After breakfast we walked to 2 of the gift shops we had previously visited to pick up some gifts, and souvenirs that we didn't want to leave behind.  The sun was shinning and quite warm today, so we were quite warm by the time we were done.  We got back to the condo just before 11 when we had to check out.  We finished off some of the food, and took our bags just down the street to the "stay Alfred" office were they kept our bags for a few hours.

Once we had dropped that off, we headed to the Veterans bridge, that we had tried to get on a few days ago, but was unsuccessful.  The walk was good, and views of the sky line were amazing.  We then headed along the water to check out Fort Nashborough, and old settlement on the banks of the river.

We then walked back to get our bags and head to the airport, we were early, but E was not feeling the greatest and we had really seen the scenes of downtown.  A short Uber ride and we were there.  Went through security, and found a place to eat.  Maybe not the best choice at the Gibson restaurant, as we waited over 1 hour for food, we think our waiter didn't punch our order in.... and then my meal came out on bread.  Not a great experience, and therefore no photos.

Off to Minneapolis to find hopefully a better meal, and wait for our last flight of the trip.  The food was pretty good, except Lola decided to have burger and fries while everyone else had a salad... there was also a comment made about not weighing herself since July, which AA said was a good thing....

We are thankful we were invited on this great birthday trip, and we hope we can do it again sometime soon....

Till Next time...(maybe 33 days).

Nashville - #jamieturns32 day 4

We woke up to a surprise this morning.... The sun!  So excited to not have to layer up, everyone except Lola didn't even wear a jacket, and E even wore shorts.  It was a beautiful day, with blue skies and warmer temperature.

Our morning was a little more relaxed heading out just after 10 to get to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.  It was full of lots of artifacts, interactive exhibits and music!  Some of the highlights include Elvis' car that was plated with gold and diamonds.  There was even a TV and refrigerator in the backseat.  Lola enjoyed all the outfits and musical instruments, such a variety of shapes, sizes and colours.

We took a break for lunch, where we headed to City Tap.  We enjoyed our lunch even though we waited forever for it.

We then headed to the Hatch Printshop Tour.  It was very interesting and such cool posters are printed there.  They showed us how the printing works, and then we got to go to a classroom and make a print of our own.  It was very neat, and so cool that they don't use computers and people still want them.  Once going through the tour, we regret not purchasing the poster they had at the grand ole opry for Opry goes pink!

After the print shop we headed back to the hall of fame to complete it.  We had 2 exhibits left.  J and Lola became certified country.  We did all the interactive boards, answering trivia, singing songs, mixing music, and designing our album covers.  It was fun, and we sure had a lot of laughs signing!

We then went and got Starbucks, and went for a walk near the water, trying to get on the pedestrian bridge but we over shot the entrance and ended up going under it.

Then we did some shopping and Lola bought a pair of cowboy boots.  They are not black like she was looking for, but still pretty awesome.  I guess all the advertising at the Opry paid off as I purchased them at the boot barn.

Then for supper we went to Hard Rock Cafe,  AA had the famous fajitas and we got our souvenir glass!  Back to the condo we went after supper as all our feet are tired, and we wanted to put some comfy clothes on!

We are watching tv and enjoying the snacks and drinks we got delivered.  Tomorrow we are going home, so we will see what we can squeeze in before we have to leave.
