BANG explore Newfoundland - Day 11

Today is the day we make the trip home, but first we had almost the whole day to do some more sight seeing.  We ate breakfast (as much of the food as we could) and packed up our bags.  We enjoyed our stay at 12 Stoneyhouse Street.    Here are a few photos of the place (taken after we had taken off all the linens, part of the "check out" requirements).

Once all packed up we headed to Petty Harbour, it was recommended to us, so why not go check it out.  It was a quaint little fishing town.  B liked it a lot, while the ladies didn't think the colours of the houses were vibrant enough.  Lots of boats in the harbour, we even saw one come in, but they made it clear that they didn't need the fork lift to transfer the fish as they weren't that successful out on the ocean.

Once we had toured the harbour we headed to Chafe's Landing, which was also highly recommended.  We all had our last seafood, and was serenaded at the end of our meal.  The food was very good, and AA enjoyed his Screech Punch!

Then we headed to downtown St. John's to finally get some shopping in. The view on our way back was incredible with the fog rolling in.  We are sure going to miss all the sights of Newfoundland.

We purchased a few things, including a sweat shirt for Lola with a Newfoundland dog on it, she couldn't find one exactly like she got as a kid, but found a more modern one with a hood and pocket!

We sat by the harbour as we had some time before heading to the airport.   Heading home we go, through Toronto.  On the way Lola saw the confederation bridge out the window, and large storm clouds that caused us to make a half circle before landing in Toronto. Now delayed in Toronto due to weather, but hopefully we make it home tonight. We had supper at the airport, and no one had fish....  Fionn MacCools was very good though.  Now we wait for our delayed flight, but glad we took tomorrow off too, its going to be a late night.

sleeping before we even took off.

Confederation bridge!

Hope you enjoyed the blog as much as we all enjoyed our trip!
