Texas May 2019 - Day 7

We started the day off with some Great Wolf Lodge activities.  We were a few minute early, so we enjoyed the Great Wolf Lodge Story time in the lobby.  The kids were very excited to see the animals sing and talk.  It reminds us all of the robot animals at Disney parks, just a little less clacking of the robotics.  The main event we were waiting for was the Kid Yoga.  MBMell and Lola also enjoyed some light stretching in the morning.  They taught the moves, and then read a story that had the yoga moves incorporated. The boys watched from the sidelines.

Off to breakfast, or character meal as T called it.  I guess we have been to a few "character meals" in disney, so they kind of new what to expect.  the breakfast was buffet, and there was ok selection, and the food was decent.  We got to meet Brinley the male Bear, but the kids ate too slow and we didnt get to meet Wiley the wolf.  He did walk by and we got to wave at him.  Maybe we can see him tomorrow.

Then we headed to the Dallas Zoo.  We got to the gate, and MBMell wasn't doing very well.  WE got inside (after DD went back for the stroller).  MBMell was going down hill fast, with a migraine.  She sat on a bench while we looked at the petting zoo, and then it was decided that MBMell and DD would head back to the hotel, while the rest stayed at the zoo. Kids weren't too concerned, and happy to be able to stay.   DD got MBMell to bed, and the rest of us explored.

The zoo was pretty good. Although not all animals were out and visible, the statues were highlighted, and the best exhibit was the giraffes as they were down low and the spectators were up at their head level, it was pretty neat.  We got to eat lunch with the Lions which was pretty good.

We learnt that the kids are almost as tall as an emperor penguin.  B enjoyed all the snakes as there were so many kinds and they were pretty active.  T loved the Gorillas.  We saw babies as well as a male gorilla pound his chest and run and hit the glass, it was pretty exciting.

We saved the Dino section for when DD came back.  The kids and him had such a great time seeing all the dinosaurs, and we were all impressed with the details, variety as we walked around.

For such great listening and good behavior, Lola treated the kids to a Carousal ride.  B picked a humming bird while T picked the gorilla.  We headed back to the car after the Dino's and found out DD parked in the electric parking spots which were nice and close to the front entrance.  We were a little warm, so happy not to have to walk forever to get back to the car.

The kids had animal crackers (left over from lunch), and we drove back to the hotel.

MBMell had a good rest and was feeling a little better when we arrived back.  We headed back to the water park, MBMell opted just to watch, which was great as she could take some photos :).  We explored 2 new parts of the water park, including the lazy river as well as the wave pool.  The kids enjoyed it so much.  B really had a great time when the waves came, she was smiling from ear to ear!

We went to Cheesecake Factory for supper which was walking distance to the supercharger.  It worked out great!  Supper was good, and the kids even got ice cream for dessert.

Back a the hotel, we got the kids to bed, played Sushi Go, and then watched the end of Home Alone lost in New York.  It is now bed time, which we should get to, as we have another full day planned for tomorrow.
