Long time...

Well, I guess all my readers are expecting a blog entry since I'm traveling again...

Luckily, this trip is limited to one night in St. Louis. Good thing too, I need to get over this stupid, aggressive cold that has taken its stronghold on me the past two days.  Maybe the return flight will unplug my ear.

Today was an early start, alarm going off at 430 to catch a 630 flight. Lola got up too and put in a long day, starting at 530 after she dropped me off. Flights were good, on time and no issues. And, thankfully  people decided to opt for the Delta airlines $800 flight credit and $800 gift card to any retail store so I could get a seat on the oversold flight from Minneapolis to St. Louis.

Onboard before the sun was up.

Inspection number 1 went well. One more tomorrow plus meeting with the flamm group for a company down here to go through some questions that have been raised regarding their test procedures and analysis. That should prove to be fun... Hopefully I get out before the 430 shift change:

It was too bad I needed to get work done, or that I'm only here one night, the cardinals are in town playing baseball against the Phillies and I could walk to the stadium. Oh well, maybe next time.

Well, not much else to say other than I'm tired and need some rest. Hope all is well back in MB.

Goodnight from MO.

Tonight's conversation piece

Arizona Adam - "Lola, we need to talk."
Lola - "About what?"
Arizona Adam - "About this:

Yes that's right folks. Three sweaters and a jacket in the kitchen. If only there was closet space...

The drive home

Wow, what a game lastnight!  We couldn't believe that the Jets held on for the W in Minneapolis/St. Paul!!  Our Minnesota friends couldn't either. According to Jamie's dad, it was the two refs from Winnipeg that helped the Jets to secure the victory. I thought it was more the absence of the Wild offense that helped.

Whatever the case may be, we came out ontop and need another W tonight vs. St. Louis.

Lola is driving so it's Arizona Adam at the small keyboard (on his iPhone).

Today we did some shopping before starting the trek back to the 204. Lola wanted to check out Kohls, Michaels and DSW Shoes in Maple Grove, on our way out of Minneapolis.

The Maple Grove excursions wasn't as Lola had hoped. Micheals was a flop, kohls didn't have any shoes she wanted and neither did DSW.  However while searching for DSW, which Lola claimed she knew where it was ("by a Costco... I think), we found a Jo-Ann's fabrics and stopped in. Lola was super excited because she FINALLY found some more markers for her Cricut. Now she is armed with more colours for some new card creations.

And, Lola was right - DSW was by a Costco.

After Maple Grove, we drove 20 mins to Albertville where AA wanted to try to find some new work shirts. It was a success - three new long sleeves from Van Huesen and two polos from Under Armor.  Lola found a few things too - new capris and shorts and some new high heels.

Then we started our drive. Lola needed a nap:

Lunch was at 3:00 in Alexandria - Perkins. Then it was Lola's time to pilot the Passat.

While searching the glove box to see if we had any extra sugars for Lola's bitter earl grey tea from Caribou Coffee in Alexandria, AA came across "some" napkins:

17 from McDonald
9 from Starbucks
14 no names (+ 2 which he found after counting...)

Needless to say, we are prepared for a massive coffee/tea/water spill. Either that or a picnic for 30 people.

I was reminded by Lola just now that I forgot to blog for the past few days. So, here is a recap of activities:

Sunday:

We went to Jamie's family Easter. We were once again known as "the Canadians". After enjoying lunch and visiting with Jamie's cousins and aunts/uncles we loaded up and made the drive from Harding to Minneapolis - the boys in one vehicle and the girls in the other.

For the most part the drive was uneventful, except for when AA and Eric had to remind the girls that south required a right hand turn, not left that they were setup (and signalling) for.

Dinner on Sunday was at Tavern on France and was really good. Arizona Adam's food was delayed because the waitress was too worried about Lola's meal that she forgot to enter his. It's probably for the better, would rather have Lola taken care of than not. Plus, he got a free French onion soup out of the wait (delish).

Monday:

We got up at a reasonable hour and grabbed breakfast at the hotel. Then we loaded up in E and J's Terrain and went to the new outlet mall south of the Mall of America.

Apparently Lola's real name is hard to spell in Minnesota.

After shopping, we went for lunch at Ruby Tuesdays by our hotel and then back to the hotel for a nap. No, not for Amelia but for E and J. Instead, Amelia got to spend some quality time with Auntie Gwen:

After naps were had, we got on our jerseys and made our way to the arena. We had dinner at the restaurant inside and then enjoyed the game:

We even were able to find Crystals boyfriend who was in Minneapolis for work at the game:

(He's the guy with his hand on his face)

- end of recap -

We recently passed some trailers with quality decal jobs:

We are now just outside of Fargo. Almost to our next stop in Grand Forks for fuel and maybe food (although AA is not very hungry).

It was a good trip but like all trips, this one too must come to an end. Soon we should be able to start making trips to cottages to enjoy the summer weather.

We can't wait.

"hopping" in Little Falls

We got up this morning and headed on the next leg of our adventure.

Drove to vita to visit my grandma, uncle and aunt and a cousin.  We had an excellent lunch and saw the large wood pile they have been busily working on.

My grandma says it should last her about 2 years....

Then off to little falls, mn.  AA drove through the border at Tolstoi, and through to Theif River Falls.  We stopped for a pee break and for some McDonald's.  AA couldn't resist the 10 nuggets for $2.

Lola took over the driver seat, and drove the rest of the way like a champ (says AA).  Taking note of the casino in Mahnomen, the shooting star, where many of the Manitobans go, as well as many other interesting towns along the way.  AA even had the priverlage of napping along the way.

We made it to Jamie's parents place where we had an excellent supper cooked by Eric and I got some baby time with Amelia.

After Amelia fell asleep, bar hopping we went.

First stop....

West side bar.  They even had a band.

Then we headed to the red bull. Jamie thought it was going to be busy.... You can be the judge of that.

Sure a lot of guys wearing grey shirts...

It was at least quite in there so we could talk.

Last stop for the little falls bar adventure was to Johnny c's

This place was pretty busy, and not overly loud.  2 drinks for $7... Wow that is cheap.

Had to prove I was on the adventure and the DD.

Well time for bed,  off to Easter lunch at Jamie's grandmas tomorrow then, heading to minneapolis.

Happy Easter everyone,

Lola

Easter, iPads and iPhones

Well we are in Morden for Easter with Lola's family.

Today we didn't do much, ate lunch, hung out in the living room, went for a walk, ate Easter supper, and now watching the curling game.  Well some of us are watching, others are on their devices.

Here are some photos of the walk.  Erin came too, but didn't seem to take a photo of her. It was colder than we thought.

AA and I made it to the rock first. The rock is in the Minnewasta Golf course.

Then it was sara and kaitlyn...

Hana came slowly....

But then they all made it.  These were the only smiles we got from kaitlyn and Hana.

Here are the Easter conversations....

Even my mom was on her iPad....

Let's hope for a canada win... It is a close game.

Tomorrow AA and Lola's adventure continues.  Off to vita area to visit Lola's grandma and then off to the USA!

Cheers,

Lola
