Texas May 2019 - Day 1

Well the annual "May long weekend trip" started today.  AA had to stay behind for a day to go to a friends wedding social, but Lola ventured to Austin on her own.  The flight this morning was early, and the plane had to make a large loop to the south of Austin to try and thread the needle through a lot of large clouds, but it was good.

The clan picked Lola up at the airport, and off to Shake Shack for lunch.  That burger and fries are just awesome.  The kids were pretty excited too.

DD took the kids for a little pre-mothers day shopping while MBMell and Lola walked around the Domain, only going into 1 store... Dicks Sporting Goods.  Lola looked at the Carrie Underwood athletic close, and then we ventured to the helmet section.  There was a discussion about the size of the kids heads, and how T's helmet doesn't seem to fit very well.  Looking back at photos, they needed new helmets.  So DD brought them to the store, where we tried on a few, and the kids went home with new helmets.  They even rode up and down the escalator with them on.

Oh lets not forget we had to take photos with some mannequins...

Home we went to try out the new bike helmets.  Only 1 adult bike so Lola and MBMell "walked" while the kids road their bikes.  Wow they have really improved since January and can they go fast!  No incidents, except B had to make a mad dash home, as she really had to use the washroom.  All worked out and we had a good walk outside!

We cleaned up the toys, did some reading, built a puzzle and just enjoyed our time together the rest of the afternoon.  Oh and Brown puppies joined us once again. We ordered Sushi, while DD did some letter drawing with the kids. DD wasn't feeling well, but he went and picked up the Sushi, while the rest of us played Sorry.

It was a great game.  T was so into it, and couldn't wait for Lola to "sorry" him.  Thanking her and hugging her every time she did it.  They played well, learning to move all the way up to 12 spots, sliding on the coloured arrows, and having to move backwards of you had too many moves when in the "safe zone".  We  played with only 2 pons, but we didn't finish before supper arrived.

We had sushi, and B really was excited to see all the Sushi with Cream Cheese.  DD wasn't well, so he slept on the couch while the rest of us ate.

After supper it was shower and bed time.

The adults chatted into the evening, and now it is time for bed its been a long day since 4:30am.

AA should arrive tomorrow and the ladies with the kids are going to see Frozen on Ice!

Good night.
