Lola's last in Texas. She got up to say goodbye to the kids as they were off to school and she had to get to the airport before they were done school.
Big hugs, then Lola went back to bed as she still needed some sleep before attending a meeting in the morning for work. She got up, and attended her meeting, and then packed up to be ready to go home. She was pretty sad about leaving.
After the meeting, Lola and MBMell headed to The Domain to do a little shopping. The shopping trip was successful finding MBMell something to wear for family photos, as well as successfully getting DD some new jeans. He met us at The Domain after his morning meeting, to go for lunch and find some jeans!
We then headed to Shake Shack again for lunch (Lola's favorite). The food was just as good this time as the last time! She could eat it every day!
The adults headed back to the house, where DD went back to work, while Lola and MBMell hung out a little bit longer before heading to the airport.
MBMell took Lola to the airport, where they hugged good bye and went their separate ways. Lola had a pretty uneventful experience at the airport, waited forever for some Starbucks, and then headed to the gate.
Uneventful flight to Minneapolis.
Once arrived at Minneapolis, the next flight was delayed, so Lola headed to get a good meal. It was so good, fresh potatoes, beans, and salmon. She also had her last glass of unsweet iced tea (her American favorite).
Once she was done dinner, she checked the app again regarding the time of the flight, and it was still delayed, so she took her time getting to the gate, browsing the shops along the way. She looked at the departures board, and the flight said it was leaving at 7:45 (which was the original time). She panicked and speed walked to the gate. Exhausted she got to the gate to find out that the board wasn't changed, and they hadn't even started boarding yet.
She landed in Winnipeg (where there was snow now), got through customs, got her bag and headed to catch an Uber. To her shock the Uber ride was going to be $56....surge pricing. So she hopped in a cab and $15 later she was home. AA was in Montreal for work this week so he couldn't come get her.
It was overall a great trip (with a little work in there). The weather wasn't super, but still great to see her friends and spend some time away!
