Austin TX - Day 1 - Nov 11th, 2022

It has been 1,260 days since Lola has been to Austin TX, the longest time between trips for sure! Lola successfully made it to DD and MBMell's place, DD picked her up from the airport where it was Christmas already! It was well after midnight, the kids had been sleeping for hours.  The adults went to bed a little later than it was planned, but Lola was happy to not have to work the next day.

The kids got off to school the next morning, while Lola slept in a little.  The ladies had a pretty chill morning and then MBMell and DD and her went to Shake Shack for lunch which was so good!  Then DD went back to work and ladies went to pick up the kids.  They were pretty excited to see Auntie when they pulled up.

We hung out for a while (the kids read), and then we went through the kids closets to get ready for the clothing Swap and Bop at the school tomorrow. The Babysitter arrived (this was planned a while go, so didn't want to cancel again).  So the adults went out while the kids had pizza and video game evening with the babysitter. 

We went to The Domain to go to Yard House and Top Golf. Yard House was very busy, so while we waited we headed for a walk and stopped for a drink a an Irish Pub.  About 45 minutes later we got a table at Yardhouse.  DD enjoyed his 1/2 yard of beer, and Lola enjoyed her mineral water!  The food was excellent, but smaller portion that Lola was used to.

Next up we headed to Top Golf, (Lola is now driving...) It was a 1.5 hour wait, which we couldn't do as we only had about 1 hour before we had to relieve the babysitter.  So we headed to Round Rock to throw some Axe's.  DD was pretty good, while Lola and MBMell had their moments. They played a game girls against boy... the ladies one by 1 point.... but had way more chances to throw their axes.

Back to the house, where the babysitter said things went well.  We played Sushi Go Party and Exploding Kittens before heading to bed.

It was a great day! Back at home AA was busy shoveling out of the snow storm that came over night!
