Austin, TX - Day 5 - Nov 15, 2022

Today was similar to the day before.  Lola got up and worked most of the day until it was time to go get the kids from school.  MBMell and Lola got them from school and went straight to Swimming Lesson.  It was boat safety week, so the kids were exited to get in the inflatable boat and wear life jackets.  The kids swimming skills are excellent, B can make it across the pool with out breathing, the instructor had to tell her to breath half way (as that is what they were practicing).

It was still colder outside (9 degrees C) , so the kids weren't too happy that they had to quickly rinse off and get changed before they got to go home.  They usually just dry off and head straight home.

Once at home Lola had some great one-on-one time with the kids as they showered.  T went first, talking the whole time about Pokemon, evolving Pokemon, how they didn't know that some evolved 2 times and some 3, about the naming of Pokemon, and on and on.  I don't even know how much time passed, but it was a lot of Pokemon talk.  While that was happening, B was doing her reading time (homework).

Next up was B, her topics of conversation were a little more all over the place.  We talked about the OCS (Original Cat Society) that they play at recess, how she dreams, and if she thinks about what she wants to dream about they aren't as good, or happen the way they should, and then onto the skull crushing animals. She was quizzing me about which animals were bone crushing and which weren't and giving me facts about them.  What about Grizzly Bears? Tasmania Devils? but of course the main one was the honey badger the animal everyone knows about...not.

After showers, the kids did some drawings and book making. And Beat the boss on one of the levels in the video game they were playing. We ordered some Greek supper, which was way too much food, and got the kids to bed.

After the kids were in bed, Lola and MBMell did some of the "odd" jobs that were on MBMell's list where she loves Lola's help.  Hanging photos!  It was so exciting to add to the Disney Wall's.

The evening and way too late into the night was spent watching the launch of NASA's Artemis. It finally lifted off at 1:47am EST (12:47am CST). It was exciting to see it launch, but more importantly, the lead up to it, where the ethernet switch was the deciding factor if they could launch or not..... The updates from DD were always ahead of NASA's broadcast, so it was pretty entertaining.  What DD read on the internet was faster than what they were broadcasting.

The adults went to bed way too late, and had a busy day the next day.
