The blue room...gone

Well after 7.5 years we finally painted the last 2 rooms upstairs. Lola has been waiting for the day to get rid of the blue room. Who paints baseboards blue.

Since the baseboards are solid wood, Lola decided she wanted to try and restore them to wood, like the rest of the bedrooms upstairs. She stripped them with some help from AA, it wasn't the easiest and took some time, but she is happy with the way it turned out.  She still needs to finish them but that will come.

Lola's mom came to help this weekend. It was a full house, with Erin and Kaitlyn coming, as well as Hana and sara staying with us for the weekend too.  We had a good time and lots of laughs and food.

The rooms weren't in the best shape, cracks everywhere. Lots of patching was required. Granny was excited to use Lola's new orbital sander.  Pictures are not there as Lola wouldn't bring her new phone into the dust. We even had to put up some curtains on the door frames to control the dust.

After all the sanding and patching, priming was in order.  2 coats of primer to hide the blue, and then 2 coats of paint. It was a good Mother's Day, with food, and painting and a full house.

Now to put all the contents back in, get casings on the windows, new blinds, maybe some new furniture, and reorganizing.

To finish off here are some photos.
