Well this is a first...
Lola travels for work. Ok ok she has gone to Fredricton for a conference but it was a little different, she had her boss to go with and then ended the trip with AA in Montreal. This time, she is all on her own, the flying part isn't so bad to do, done that many times by herself. But an adventure, first time renting a car, going to an office where I don't know anyone or where it is, and being a mature engineer I guess. This is real world.
Let's just say Lola was a little nervous last night and this morning, not to mention AA kept smirking as he thought my nervousness was cute.
Made it just fine to the airport, while in line to go through security, Lola checked her air canada app, oh great DELAYED.
Quickly pulls out the phone, dials AA and quickly asks him to turn around to come get her. 1.5 hours is way too long to wait when you live 10 minutes away, plus really wanted my neck pillow that was forgotten.
The Passat pulls up for a second time at departures and away it went to go pick up the neck pillow and then to Perkins for breakfast! Since we had a coupon;).
Breakfast was nice and back to the airport AA took Lola. One line open at security, pretty slow moving on a Sunday late morning. Tims tea was the first thing to do, then a walk around the airport to get my step count up before sitting on the plane for 2.5 hours.
Oh no.... Lola has to pee and no one in the airport to watch her things... Good thing there are hooks and shelved in the stalls!
Boarded the plane seat 18A on of course a bombardier.
Flight was pretty uneventful, sitting beside a man eating candy the whole way, sleeping off and on and fast forwarding through movies. Lola of course picked a chick flick, "how to be single", and cried 2 times...
Oh so as the seatbelt sign comes on to land. Lola looks for her driver license... Can't find it in her pocket, not in the pocket in her backpack... Panic...
Found it in the small crevasse between the 2 seats... Panic over... That could have been bad. Put back in the wallet. Check!
Just about to land in Ottawa, where it is very cloudy and supposed to rain.
Loosing 2 hours of the day, means less shopping for Lola today. She is on a mission and left room in her carry on to bring new clothes maybe some shoes home.
Made it to the hotel... Didn't get lost, but had to park 2 times....
Second try... And no back up camera
Time to head out in the rain and check out the shops.
