A little rain didn't stop this girl

The delayed flight didn't stop Lola from heading to the Byward market area to get in as much shopping as she could.  The outdoor shopping was pretty much closed down by the time she got there, so into the mall and to get out of the rain and cold she went.  Rideau Centre is a confusing mall, but she made her way from store to store on a mission to find a dress and anything else that caught her eye.  

She left the mall at 6 with only a blazer... It will be worn on blazer Friday ( a new tradition that Lola has started at work, wearing a blazer and jeans every Friday). Good thing there are smart phones, makes shopping alone much easier. AA was a good help!

Off to find some food, AA suggested a few places so Lola headed to Lonestar Texas Grill. Almost got pulled to the other side of the street where there was a Dunns, one of the Montreal smoked meat locations, but that wasn't one of the places AA suggested. 

Lola ordered a southwest burger no cheese no bun with a side of baked potato and refried beans.  Burger first came out with a bun, taken back, next burger came without guacamole, the whole reason for that burger being ordered.  Waited and waited and waited some more for the waiter to come back, but to her surprise a plate of fresh avocado came to the table because they couldn't garuntees there wasn't sour cream in the guac.... Who puts sour cream in guac... But who cares, the half of the avacado was so good. 

Back to the hotel Lola thought she was going, but she found a Metro grocery store on her way back, a little of a detour, but picked up some snacks and food to make for lunch for the next two days instead of having to go out. Then Lola walked back but got lost a little, good thing for the smart phone again, with google maps.

At the hotel she made the sausage and rice she picked up for lunch, and then headed to the pool. Not before her first chat with AA.  The chat was a little depressing as the sun was still out and birds chirping, while in Ottawa was dark, cloudy and still raining.

Now she is just watching hockey, curling and going to head to bed soon.  Big day tomorrow, first day in the Ottawa office, hope she doesn't get lost.
