#WDW2017 - Magic Kingdom Day 2 (full release)

Sorry for the delayed post - yesterday was another long day with some new firsts.

The trio started the day off relatively on time. Lola and MBM got the day started off on the right foot with a smoothie for themselves and the twinkles. AA asked if T and B were drinking coffee to which they both responded with a "yes".

The day was spent at Magic Kingdom again. Although the same park, new rides were waiting. We met Mickey and Tinkerbell first thing in the morning - the kids were right into it. So was Uncle AA.

Afterwards we went on some rides - Aladdin's Magic Carpet, Pirates of the Caribbean.

On Aladdin's Magic Carpet
Lunch time was an adventure we won't soon forget. AA was watching the twinkles while the ladies were getting lunch. He took them down to watch a animatronic alien who was playing jazz piano. They were having a great time - raising their arms and swaying during one of the slow songs.

They were right into the animatronics
At the end of the song, as if it was part of the show, a lightbulb above the trio exploded and rained down shards of glass.

No one got seriously injured. AA quickly picked up T to get him out of the high chair that was now covered in glass. B was fine and out of the line of fire.

T had one small poke that drew a single drop of blood while scanning over. Otherwise he was ok. A nice lady who saw this all happen came over to offer any help but AA was doing ok. Instead she went to get some staff members to let them know what happened.

Soon after two wait staff came over, the manager came to assess the situation and called 911 to report the incident - it is protocol.

AA answered questions about what happened and if T had any blood conditions or allergies. He soon had to explain that T wasn't his kid, which confused him a bit but it made sense once MBM finally arrived.

Two paramedics came to check out T.  They too started asking AA questions, which he was answering and MBM then realized that she should probably be answering questions. The paramedic laughed and said "yeah, the wife always knows the answers" to which they had to correct him again that AA was not the dad.

The paramedic had to ask MBM if she wanted to take T to the hospital (more protocol). She said no - T wasn't even phased by what was happening and got a band aid to signify the incident was resolved.

Shortly after the paramedics left, another manager came to talk with the crew. She was royally confused about the whole adult situation - she first thought that Lola was the mom but was corrected. Then she thought Lola and MBM were sisters - nope, wrong again. Last strike was also thinking that AA was the dad.  This manager wanted to make the kids day magical because of the whole incident and gave them each a voucher for a plush Disney character of their choice. She also gave the adults a fast pass to one of the rides they wanted (Tomorrowland Speedway).  Everyone was making the whole thing was a bigger deal than it really was - but understandably so because this was Disney and they don't want any sort of negative image even if the event was completely out of their control (such as this).   And we were thankful that the only casualty was a single drop of blood - it could have been much worse.  We also were very thankful that DD was not present during this whole episode, his anxiety levels would have been through the roof.

After lunch we met Ariel in her grotto for a photo shoot and did another ride on the Under the Sea clamshells.

Then it was time for some Dole Whip and a short snooze.

While napping, the girls waited in line to meet Aladdin and Jasmine and AA watched them until Developer Devin made his way to the park. As the girls made it to the front of the line, RR1 woke up just in time for some pictures:

We got Frozen by the Castle:

We rode Space Mountain:

We ate a Mickey ice cream bar.  Each:

We drove cars:

Took some pictures:

Met Goofini, Donaldo, Minnie and Daisy:

Rode Dumbo:

Some of us were tall enough to ride the Barnstormer but RR2 was not. Lola distracted him while the others rode on the kids roller coaster. We weren't too sure if Missie liked the ride or not.

Distracting T
DD had to leave to do some work at that time so the others made our way for supper with mashed potatoes, turkey, pork, beef tenderloin, stuffing, beans and mac and cheese. It was delicious and we were full.

Afterwards, we went on the carousel because the kids really like riding the horses.   And MBM wanted to ride the carousel at night. It was a fun ride.

Our last ride was on Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin where you get to spin your cart and shoot at aliens. AA was the cart leader with 210,000 points, Lola came in second with 80,000 or so.

We then went to Mickey's Space Traders and the kids picked out their plush toys - RR1 selected a Minnie Mouse after politely rejecting the Mickey Mouse that was presented to her. RR2 was dead-set on Pluto from the moment the manager asked him what his favourite character was. He didn't let go of Pluto for over an hour.

Back at the hotel, AA made his way to the airport to get the rental car (van) while the kids were burning off some energy and put to bed. DD was busy with work and joined the group again for a couple of hours before everyone went to bed and he stayed up to take a late night call at 1am.  He ordered in a pizza as he was starting to go delusional without eating since the morning...

Mmmm, pizza
It was a very interesting day, to say the least. And is twice as hard to remember what you did after a full day at Hollywood Studios...

PS - I apologize for the text highlight that is a different colour from the blog background. I typed this in an email and then copied it to the blog, not sure what happened and I'm too tired to figure this out.
