#WDW2017 - Magic Kingdom day 1

Today we give the day 17/18... That is we completed 17 of the 18 things on our itinerary that MBMell prepared for our "family". We may have done things out of order and missed one, but I would say it was a very successful day.

It started with MBMell not waking up to her alarm.... Which delayed our departure.  We got to the bus stop on the outside of our hotel and the line up was crazy, good thing there was bus after bus waiting to take us all to magic kingdom.

We only got on the bus about 30 minutes after we were scheduled. Arriving at the park, and getting into the park were two different things.  After going through metal detectors, getting our bags searched, we get into the admission where we get to use our cool magic bands... Well they didn't work, we had to get them activated, which they were supposed to do at the hotel. This wouldn't be a big deal if we weren't in the complete opposite side and there weren't hundreds of people in the lines that we couldn't get around.... So through we went with a double stroller.  I was the one repeating, "excuse me" "pardon me" "sorry" as I pushed the twinkies through lines of people, following Melissa's at the font, and Devin and AA following close behind. Once we got through it was a big sigh of relieve from me:).

We got into the gate, and was overwhelmed by the castle, the people, the characters, the lights and all the wonderful attractions.  We got a photo pass so we try and get as many group photos taken by a professional as we can.  While waiting in the short line for the family in front of us to finish, we got scooted to the side for a welcome song and dance,  it was so much fun.

We finally got to our first destination on our itinerary about half and hour late, but that was ok. It was time to experience our first Disney experience with the twinkies and us! And it was exciting that many of the things we did today Mell and Devin hadn't experienced when they were here 5 years ago.
First stop was Under the Sea- journey of the little mermaid.  This was Lola's favorite.  AA was left to sit by himself, but he still enjoyed the ride too.

Next up was Enchanted Tales with Belle, which was so interactive and the twinkies stole the show at the end when they got to have pictures will Belle.

From there we went on on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (swapping the children so that we could go as couples).

Here is where we had to get to our dinning reservation so skipping was necessary on our schedule.

Lunch was fantastic at The Crystal Palace. The chef came out to show me what I could and couldn't eat. And gave me a special peice of fish, and a wonderful bowl of rice dream and cookies for dessert! The other food was very good, and the others raved about the perogies.... Surprised yes they were too and how good they were. And the highlight of the meal was all the visits from Christopher Robyn's friends. Pooh, Piglet, Tiger and Eeyore.  The twinkies Enjoyed the characters more than the Mac and cheese.... Well maybe it was a tie.

After that we tried our best to stay on schedule, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, Peter Pans flight, Mickey's PhilharMagic and Tom Sawyers Island.  Once we got off the island it was time to find a place to sit and watch the parade, Brinley fell asleep instantly, and Turner wanted nothing to do with the stroller. We found a place (Not in the shade like we hoped for) Turner got a free treat from "Mickey" and we sat and watched the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade! That was one of Lola's favorite as well. The costumes, and props, and the floats were amazing.

From there we headed to its a small world, where Devin and Binley stayed on land, a Brinley was still sleeping and Devin was more than happy to not experience it again. Then we headed to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.  It is a newer ride, with a long wait, but we thankfully had fast passes to let us not have to wait as long.  This was another child swap, so AA and I went and Devin and Mell went later. We had some time to spare before our next fast pass of The many adventures of Winnie the Pooh, so we headed to Splash Mountain, one of the previously skipped events.  We were successful on this ride, doing a child swap and us getting back on schedule. As we walked past the only ride not checked off on my printed out schedule, Country Bear Jamboree, we knew were could always come back on our second day of Magic Kingdom.

After 2 dirty diapers by turner, and a Pooh adventure we headed for supper at the Columnia Harbour house. Food was good, but Devin was still hungry after, so a Mickey pretzel he was eyeing up all day was eaten!

Last ride of the day was The Haunted Mansion (Lola's least favorite). It wasn't as scary as anticipated... Scariest part was the man opening the door for us to come in.

Headed to Cinderellas Castle for the Wishes Nighttime Spectactular for fireworks to end the evening. Wow were they every Spectactular. My favorite part was tinker bell, but no photos were taken of that part.

Browsed the shops at the entrance until Turner began a melt down, then headed to the bus to get back to our hotel.

Back at the hotel we got our "free" refillable cups, and then to relax, Get the kids bathes and to bed.

Tomorrow is an even longer day, and our feet are sore.  Hopefully we can be just a successful as today with our schedule and packing as much in as possible.

Till tomorrow, Lola
