Lola in Texas again - Austin Day 3

It was mostly a shopping day today… but how much did we really buy, not a lot.  This morning we had a lazier morning, Lola was the last one out of bed, and the kids had fun talking with her in the morning.

We ate waffles and kiwi for breakfast!

The kids and DD went to home depot to successfully purchase 2 glass globe light fixtures, a showerhead, as well as a nest thermostat (as they now have 2 units).

They came and met us back at the new house where Lola and MBMell found the last 2 kitchen boxes and pretty much successfully put the stuff mostly away!

Lunch was next we were almost on time in our very busy schedule to get out of the house and head to Denny’s…. First Denny’s once arrived was a place where the locals didn’t enjoy the last time, so we drove a little farther, towards downtown to find another.  The wait was longer than we hoped and DD turned too soon, but we made it.  Kids enjoyed their breakfast including smoothies, and the adults enjoyed their breakfast!

Then off we went to the Domain to shop for a mattress.  Casper mattress was purchased and lots of water fountain and apparatus walking was done. The mattress is very compact but not as compact as it needed to have 5 people in the Telsa and the mattress, so it was cut out of the box to fit, and Lola squished in the back to get home.  They almost had to leave her there…. She wasn’t going to be too disappointed, but it all worked.

Once back at the new house we tried to get the kids to nap, but it was well past that time, so unsuccessful, so back to the car and to continue furniture shopping, looking for a new couch/sectional as well as bedroom furniture.  We were almost successful, but didn’t actually purchase anything, but maybe found some options.  The kids were pretty good while shopping, thankfully we had 2 iPads to keep them entertained with games, and a few shows!

We had supper at a better hour today, at Texas Roadhouse.  Food was good, and B was so determined to eat all her steak just to get some more bread….3 small buns wasn’t enough she needed another half.

We got back to the old house to give the kids a bath, and they were in bed by about 8:30, and sleeping at 8:33.  This is the earliest they have been to bed in days.  Hopefully they get a good night sleep.

Back to work for DD tomorrow, and MBMell and Lola have a long list of tasks, see how much they can get done.

We are all hoping to be sleeping at the new house in the next couple of days!

Lola (sorry its late posting, been busy).

Meanwhile in Thompson, AA is flying over Churchill and the Hudson Bay.... and its cold.
