Lola in Texas Again - Austin Day 2

Today we pretty much conquered the kitchen!  There are 4 huge boxes of paper, as well as many empty boxes from unpacking all the kitchen contents. Meanwhile, T and B did awesome playing in their playroom, mostly with iPads (which kept them entertained), and DD spend majority of the day trying to get the internet connected at their new place.

So this post is a little delayed, as I couldn’t post it until the next day when we got the Internet.  We ate at McDonald’s today for lunch, which the kids were excited about.  Supper we had at Outback Steak house, which was a little later than we had hoped today, but the kids were pretty good considering.  B tried all dinner to convince us that we should order dessert… she didn’t succeed.  But she did eat some of her Dad’s Blue Cheese wedge salad.

New adventure today was to try and nap at the new house.  MBMell and Lola set up beds in the spare room (only room that was clean and darkish).  They got there new sheets, and special pillows, but were unsuccessful sleeping, but played pretty well with their soft friends for a few hours to let us get some things done.

We are pretty exhausted as the kitchen was a big task.  We are hoping to do a little shopping tomorrow, as well as get the kitchen completed, and maybe start on the next room.

Today I didn’t take a lot of photos as we were busy bees, and can’t look on social media at the old house, so I guess it is time for bed.

Oh and back in Manitoba, AA is still cold weather testing in Thompson.  He was sure cold today with the temperature of -40 but feels like -52.  He said they were outside a long time this morning, and some in the afternoon.  He wasn’t too bad in the AM but into the PM he definitely was feeling the effects of the temperature.  Not sure the testing went as planned, but he seems to be in pretty good spirits.

Till tomorrow, Lola.
