Lola Travels to Texas - Day 3

Today we got off to a slower start.  DD's coworkers left bright an early at around 6am (we didn't get up to say good bye), and we all got up just before 8, when T was excited to wake everyone up!

We packed, ate breakfast, and loaded the Tesla.  Lola also did the dishes, and entertained the Twinkies by watching videos of the previous day on her phone while others prepared for our trip.

We loaded up, and headed "full speed ahead", towards Three Rivers to the Tesla Supercharger in order to make it to Corpus Christi and back on the battery. The traffic was horrible to say the least.  The GPS said 2 hours and 30 minutes, for like at least 1.5 hours of the drive.  We just couldn't catch a break.  We made 2 pit stops on our way to Three Rivers, once for T to poop at a Shell Gas Station (I also went to the washroom), as well as in San Antonio to get some lunch, as we were Hangry.  Deny's for lunch was good, and the twinkies enjoyed their smoothies and breakfast.

Back in the car to drive another 1 hour to Three Rivers (which was actually 1 hour), B fell asleep and T did not.

Made it to the super charger, and then had bathroom break and play break while we charged the car. about 30 minutes later we had the 1 hour left of our venture to Corpus Christi.

This place has great views of oil/gas refineries, a big bridge, as well as a pretty neat air craft carrier right near our hotel.

We put all our things in the hotel room, played a little, then ventured out to walk along the "board walk".  Twinkies had a great time until they had sand in their shoes.... not just a little but a lot. We also walked to see the hours of the USS Lexington ship.  We had a debate weather the USS Lexington was bigger or smaller than the USS Missouri in Hawaii.  Post debate (looked up on wikipedia), the USS Missouri is larger.

Cool Shades courtesy of the Raddison, and they fit so well.

After our walking adventure, we headed to Blackbeard's On the Beach Restaurant.  It was a little sketchy, but the food was decent.  DD had an interesting meal... Garlic Special or something like that, but a variety of seafood and meat, with garlic sauce.  He regrets not have a double helping of potato salad instead of having fries and potato salad.  We were squished in the corner of the restaurant next to a large group of biker gang.  It was really noisy, but the twinkies handled it quite well considering.

We made our way back to the hotel (a very short walk) and headed to the pool.  DD stayed back to try and catch a little nap, and the ladies took the twinkies.  Didn't really think that through as we were forced to go full in the water.  Lola thought the temperature was pretty good MBMell not so much, but we did it for the kids.  They were showing us their swimming and jumping skills, until things got out of hand and T jumped on B.  That ended pool experience, and back to the room to have a bath and go to bed.

Bed time was a little trouble some, but not too bad.  Brown Puppies are sleeping without the twinkies tonight, but MbMell and Lola will take their place??!?!

DD is sleeping on the couch/bed thing, we will see how this goes.

Currently MbMell woke up from her cat nap of putting B to sleep, and we are sitting by the door, chatting and blogging.

Tomorrow we plan on going to the aquarium, and hoping to see the sloth that is on the billboard.  This billboard is pretty significant, as in May when we headed to Schlitterbahn Uncle AA took a photo of this billboard to show backward facing T.  He still remembers how special a moment this was for them.

Well I guess we should go to bed, as there is no light telling the kids what time they can get out of their beds in the hotel room.  And I hope it isn't too early.
