Austin 3.5 Day 4 - Slish Slash

*** Updated now with pictures! ***

Note: check this blog post again after May 20 when I can insert the other pictures, for now you just get a teaser.

Today was a full day of schlittering down the bahns.  Since last night was a later night, we let the twinkies sleep in. Plus the adults wanted some sleep too. T was still battling a fever and was up a few times during the night so he definitely needed more sleep.

Breakfast consisted of muffins, a fruit cup and some cheese for the kids. Adults had the same except for Lola who brought herself waffles. Then, AA, Lola, MBMell and B got ready to go to the water park while DD and T stayed home so that T could rest.

The park-goers had a good morning, playing in the splash pools and then taking one tube ride.

Then, we went back to the room to figure out what to do for lunch where we saw DD and T outside with DD on the phone. We thought he got locked out of the room but turns out he was on the phone trying to troubleshoot how to get his passenger door to close since the mechanism seemed to have jammed, rendering the car (Tesla) inoperable. After some time, he succeeded and got the door to close. And it’s going to stay that way for the rest of the trip, requiring the passenger to climb over the drivers seat to get in. Not a huge deal.

Lunch was more McDs - something quick and that Lola could have.

After lunch, the gang went back to do more of the water park while DD and T remained in the room. Highlights of the afternoon were:

- B “chasing” Uncle AA down the tube slides saying “I was way faster”.
- Lola knocking some kid off his tube embarrassing him in front of his friends.
- MBMell falling out of her tube on the same slide.
- B going down “the yellow slide” which was very fast in a rotating manner.
- AA almost flipping over on the Double Loop slide.

What felt like it would be around 4pm was actually 5 so clearly it was time to get going for supper. We were going back to San Antonio because AA forgot his credit card at the restaurant they were at for supper and they were going back to retrieve it.

Once in San Antonio, the crew did a quick search for a Tesla charging station but were unsuccessful. The only ones they could find were in the parking garages of the Hyatt hotels which were both “full”. So instead they parked in a regular garage and made their way to Hard Rock Cafe while AA went back to Yard House to get is credit card. After, he met up with everyone who was waiting outside the Cafe on the river walk for their table.

Some of us had naps on the drive:

Others didn't:

What should have been 30 mins (so they were told) ended up being an hour. No one was happy and everyone was getting very hangry - it was a toss up if Lola or MBMell was more angry. But finally they got seated and enjoyed their supper before driving back to the resort.

After a short breakfast stop at the HEB grocery store (and some drinks for Lola), they arrived to get the kids put to bed and now the adults can enjoy some quiet time.

Tomorrow should be more of the water park, this time venturing to the other side for another busy day of sun and schliterring on the bahns.
