Hawaii 2019 - Day 5

Today the boys went golfing in the morning.  Not without an event.  DD couldn't find his golf shorts he purchased a few days ago to go golfing, so after searching in the evening before bed, determined they must be in his backpack that he left in Lola and AA's room.  Lola was still in bed when she got some texts regarding the backpack... yes you can come in to check... no shorts in the backpack... so AA went back to get DD, and he found them in his suitcase.

The boys left at about 7:30 am to head for breakfast before golfing. Sounds like they had a good time, despite DD feeling like he has a tooth ache.  Maybe Lola can convince AA to blog about the golf after she is done. (or she will just add photos)

In the morning, Lola blogged as she was too tired the night before, got dressed and headed over to the other room.  The kids were happily watching Disney Jr, while MBM was trying to sleep a little longer.  Lola tried to get the room motivated to go to breakfast before 9, but got out just after 9.  She was hungry and trying to "beat the rush".  Luckily she brought entertainment of the Frozen II sticker books that MBM brought on the plane.  This kept them entertained while we had to wait for our table.  Breakfast was good and they had Muffins rather than donuts this morning.

We headed "straight" to the pool after breakfast as Lola suggested this and was prepared, with bathing suits on all 4 of us, and a beach bag with water and supplies!  We had a few pit stops along the way.

We saw 2 turtles near the water fall and had to check it out.  It was so cool, and one of them was eating away!  Then we had to stop and check out the dolphins. And then we finally made it to the Kona Pool (one of the pools we hadn't been to yet).

We sun screened up and headed in  the water.  What a great time we had.  The kids are such great swimmers.  We went down the water slide and the kids knew they had to swim to the wall all by themselves after then got off the water slide, but don't worry, we always went Adult, kid, kid, adult, even though the kids wanted to go down first. The kids dove for rings, played in the zero entry sand pool area, and we had bathroom and water breaks.  We spent over 2 hours at the pool.

Once we heard the boys were back at the hotel, we made our way to meet them in the room.  First we had to stop for a tropical drink.  Boy were they good after all that swimming. We walked back to the ocean tower where we were staying, giving AA texts about landmarks we were passing along the way.  The kids thought this was awesome, only to realize once we got back to the room that he had transformed into the Virtual Reality World....even on Vacation.

Back at the room, everyone had a snack and we headed to the Van for some snorkling.  But we all seperated before meeting back at the lobby.  MBM had to go put a deposit down for an activity; Lola AA and B went to get the Van, and T and DD made their way down to the lobby.  All meeting back we headed to a new snorkeling spot.

After a short drive we made it to the Muana Park.  On the way DD researched and figured out his jaw was sore from the snorkel he rented the day before at the Lagoon so he is hopeful that the pain is just that, and a dentist/dr won't be necessary, as he called around and it is all booked up (as we realized Thursday and Friday are Thanksgiving and Black Friday).  It was a little of a walk, but the kids sure enjoyed the time together.  Holding hands, looking at all the Lava Tubes, and nature surrounding us.  There was a large fish pond as well.

We got to the little beach,  but not before the kids got to touch a sea cucumber and DD and Lola saw an Eel.  The beach was quaint and the snorkeling was pretty good.  Turner went out with AA and Lola while B still was having trouble with her goggles and snorkel (we are trying to figure out why she is having so much trouble, but she keeps taking her mask off,  and then get salt water in her eyes.

AA's go pro case didn't keep the water out and the camera's battery was low from the pool day earlier, so we are sorry but no pictures of the snorkeling.  We had a great time though, and Lola, AA and T got to see an Eel in the rocks.  Thankfully T was with Lola, as it really calmed her down around the Eel.  She was determined to get T to see it, but had no luck, so finally AA took and got him to see it.  there were also a lot of fish, and the water was pretty clear to be able to see them.  Once Lola and T saw the Eel, they headed back, where B and the rest were.  Lola was done, and B was tired of trying, so AA and DD decided to go for a little more snorkeling while the others played in the sand.  Once DD came back, MBM gave him a jaw massage in hopes it would help his injury.

The kids had a great time and even met a little friend.  They were so into the playing that at one point, everyone was yelling turtle turtle and looking at it, and the 3 kids couldn't care less and kept playing.

The kids playing while everyone else is looking at the turtle.

We headed back to the Van, and back to the hotel for supper, showers and Bed.

Supper was at the Cantina right at our hotel.  We had a lot of Mexican food (so many avocados) and DD slowly was in more and more pain as the meal went on.  Hopefully he gets better, maybe some of Lola's heat pack will do the trick!

We all cleaned up, and the kids are being put down.  AA is having a nap, and we are waiting for the other adults to make their way over.

Lola is hoping they bring the "ocean potion" (aloe) over, as she didn't put enough sun screen on today.  Good thing she was wearing a rash guard otherwise more of her skin would be red.

Hope all is well back home.

Lola.

Oh here are a few snorkeling photos from Day 3.

We had a hard time figuring out if this was B or Lola, but have determined it is B.
