San Diego - Day 3

Disneyland was today!  It was a rough day 2 at the park but we survived and plan to go back for a half day tomorrow.  We arrived a little later than our schedule said again, but still managed to do most things on it.

We started the day with Alice in Wonderland, followed by Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.  The submarine was a little disappointing as we waited a long time and there were no real fish.  You actually are submerged in water though.

Next we headed to It's a Small World.  We did it in the morning in hopes that B would stay awake for it.  The last 2 times at Disney World, she was asleep for it.  We all thought it was better than Disney World because the outside and line up were so much more pleasant, and you were outside.  Inside the ride, we enjoyed finding all the disney character in amongst the cultural characters.  Lola's favorite was Lilo and Stitch in the Polynesian section!

We were a little late for our fastpass, so we hustled to Indian Jones, where Lola and AA made it on the ride.  MBMell took B and T on Tarzan's Treehouse.  A snack was necessary to make it to lunch so a quick break with overnight oats and strawberries was consumed.

We met back up and enjoyed the Tiki Room for some singing of the birds. The kids really enjoyed it, not sure the adults felt the same.

Headed for lunch at River Belle Terrace, where T had a major melt down.  It involved not wanting to go in the restaurant, crying, lying on the restaurant floor, throwing his plate of food and then sitting on our laps, eating his food and giving you the smile and blue eyes that sweet boy has.  Once completed lunch we headed to Peter Pan's Flight because the lady at the restaurant asked us to move tables after we had drinks, so we got to go a head of all the people in the line.

Peter Pans flight was a similar to WDW but a little different.  It was still very good, and we were happy to skip the line!

Potty break was needed, and lots of long lines, but Lola made it.... it was close though. Off to King Arthur Carrousel where the kids had a great time!  AA even got his own pony!.  Then we headed to Meet Elena.  T had a special Gabe (Elena's best friend) Costume he put on in line, and was so excited to meet her again.  He was going to not hide his face like at WDW.  Well we got to the front of the line, and guess who turned shy.... T.  We eventually got him to give her a big hug and got a photo!

Then we headed to Toon Town to meet Mickey Mouse and go through his house and barn. It was pretty cool going through the house with lots of neat household items turned "cartoon".

We then headed to find a place to sit for the Soundsational Parade.  I think this was everyones highlight of the day.  It was interactive, great music and awesome floats.  I don't think T stopped talking the whole time.  Lola loved Mickey playing the drums! T blew kiss at Ariel, B high fived goofy and just loved all the floats.

After the parade we waited to go on the Railroad.  We waited a long time, but eventually got on the train.  It was pretty neat and some great views of the park from that vanish point.  We even got to go through the grand canyon and dinosaurs...  In the words of T, "that was unexpected".

We got off to get some Dole Whip at the Tiki Hut.  It was sure good :)

Heading to the Haunted Mansion where T didn't want to go, but at the last moment changed his mind.  T and B both enjoyed it a lot, and didn't get scared by all the ghosts and silly things in there.

Next stop to meet some Star Wars Characters.  Chewbacca was so tall and so nice. He was a highlight for sure!  Then we had a potty break and headed to see Darth Vader.  T was not shy, while B wouldn't come close.  We did get one photo of B with the group.  T at the beginning got asked by Darth Vader if he wanted to come to the dark side, instantly, T replied "YES" is a very clear voice.  Later he back pedalled and said he was just kidding, and really wanted to be on the light side.

We found some supper at the park before leaving for the night.  It was a long hot day, and we have half a day tomorrow, where we better make sure to hit up the shops as the kids have been asking every hour to go shopping.

Time for bed, as we have another early morning tomorrow.
