San Diego 2019 - Day 1

We met MBMell, and B and T in San Diego Airport this afternoon to start our vacation in the San Diego area.

AA and Lola had a connecting flight through Calgary. We left early in the morning, and arrived in San Diego at about the same time as the others direct flight. Lola headed to Terminal 1 to help carry all the luggage in order to get to the rental car shuttle.  AA waited for the luggage which took a while as the luggage got stuck. Everyone was happy to be reunited!

All the luggage!

We got our van (Toyota) and headed for some lunch.  McDonalds it is:)  We sat outside, but it was pretty hot.  Lola thinks she got a little sun burn.  It only took 3 tries to get the Big Mac without cheese and a bun.

We then headed on our Journey to Anaheim.  The kids don't know what is happening the next 3 days.  The drive was about 1.5 hours, with some slow parts because of the LGPA tournament going on.  AA successfully made it to the hotel.  T said, this sure looks like a Disney Hotel with all the disney stuff on the wall of the hallway and a big statue of Mickey Mouse, but they still aren't sure what the surprise is.

We headed to the pool where the kids swam for about 45 minutes.  They are getting very good at jumping in, turning around and swimming back to the wall.  They also had a great time trying to touch the bottom of the pool as well as just swimming.  I think they can swim better than i can, good thing the adults could touch the bottom of the pool in most spots. (sorry no photos, as we didn't bring our water proof camera).

We cleaned up and headed to our dinner reservation at Market Broiler.  It was mostly seafood, and we all got fish.  Dinner was really good, Lola developed a head ache so didn't eat her entire meal, but we all had a great experience.  The kids were good that they even got ice cream!

Back to the hotel, to catch up, get the kids to bed, and prepare for tomorrow.  Time for bed.

Lola.
