Florida 2022 - Day 9

Thankfully MBM woke up feeling much better than the day before, and way more rested than the rest of us. T had a fit in the morning, while B was ready to go. It wasn't the smoothest start, and tantrums bounced back and forth between the 2 all day. We got to the park just in time for a few mothers days photos and then headed to watch "let the magic begin".  It was a great start to the day, and the weather wasn't too hot.  We also searched for 50th statues.

Then off to our Breakfast reservation, Cinderella's Royal Table.  MBM and Lola had been trying to get a reservation to eat in the castle for years, and successfully got one in 2020 (that we had to cancel because of Covid) and then again this year.  But honestly we were kind of disappointed.  The kids didn't really like their breakfast, the adults thought the meals were ok.  We didn't even get to see Cinderella.  The spiral staircase and stain glass windows were neat, but other than that.... not worth the wait or money.

Next up we headed to Tomorrow Land.  The wait for Space Mountain was posted at 25 minutes, and MBM decided to sit this one out.  So away we went, and the kids were pretty excited. To our surprise the wait was over 1 hour.... and so long, but the ride didn't disappoint.  T went in the front, and had a blast, the ride is so dark with unexpected turns and drops.  It was surprising that he enjoyed the ride.

We got to see Stitch on the stage, as we headed to the people mover. We had never been on this ride before. It was faster than we expected.

Next up, Carousel of Progress.  This was not Lolas favorite, but it was a room what spun into different eras demonstrating how times have changed.  It was air conditioning and a seat, which was nice.  Others in the group really enjoyed it.

As we were on the people mover, the kids noticed Tomorrowland Speedway, so away we went.  This ride is so hard to steer, but the kids were excited to try driving. The sun was blazing and T had a meltdown so we headed into Cosmo Cafe where back in 2017 AA was involved in a traumatic experience with a light bulb exploding while he was taking care of the kids. Trauma of 2017 for reference if you want to read about it.  We enjoyed our foot long hotdogs, DD was a disaster with his Walt's Chilli Cheese Foot long.  The air conditioning, seat and food help all of us recover and we headed to Storybook Circus area to do dumbo and Barnstormer.

T had been asking to go to Country Bears Jamboree all day, so off we went, but had a quick stop for a Mickey Snack.  Strawberry bars and Mickey bars.  T loved Country Bears.... still. The rest of us sat and listened to the clicking of the eyes on the animals, and the singing bears.

We were walking to go visit Mickey (on our way B had a melt down) and so we stopped by the Friendship Show on the stage of the Castle to try and change the mood.  Both kids really enjoyed it, the adults enjoyed the shade and watching the squirrels eating popcorn and "fighting".

We met Mickey Mouse in his 50th attire, and then T had another melt down.  We headed on the Monorail to the Contemporary Hotel for some food.  We at at the Contempo Cafe.  The food was good, and it was quiet.  We got back on the Monorail and found out that it goes all the way around, so we were going past the Polynesian Hotel, and so we made a Pit stop for some Dole Whip. The boys had rum in theirs and MBM got the special 50th Celebration.

The kids started collecting transportation Cards, after T got one from the Monorail lady as he was having having a melt down. They a boy gave us one at the Polynesian, so we started asking.

We got to the bus and headed back to the hotel, to journal, play some games and get to bed.

Lola.
