Florida 2022 - Day 7

Today is Epcot Day! The kids don't really remember a lot about this park so it was sure fun to explore with them. We are pretty tired and our feet are getting sore, Lola travelled 104,866 steps this week (Monday to Friday).

We headed to the park around 9am, and it takes about 1 hour to get to the bus stop, travel on the bus and get into the park. But Epcot was not very busy today, which was refreshing. Although not extremely busy it was till hot, but at least today there was a bit of a breeze.

We admired the Epcot ball when we arrived, and instantly began noticing all the topiaries and beautiful flowers around the park. It is the Flower and Garden Festival, and wow is it amazing.  There is a little book with all the special foods, locations of topiaries, and other special events.

There are also the 50th statues at this park, we missed one, but hopefully we will catch that when we come back the second time (in a few days).

So let us go through the rides, and events we did today!

First stop Spaceship Earth, which is inside the Epcot ball. Surprisingly the kids and adults really enjoyed this one.  At the end you can pick what you want to do in the future, and it shows you how it will evolve and change with technology... and of course AA and Lola picked Vacation, while the kids (each with a parent), picked a job. On our way to The Land (building with many attractions), we stopped at the Bambi Butterfly house.  There were some amazing butterflies and plants, and lots of questions, and kids really wanted the butterflies to land on their hands, but no such luck.

We then went to Soarin'. This was excellent, except we were in a not great spot, so some of the stuff was a little distorted. Still enjoyed visiting some places we have been and others we wish to go.Lunch was enjoyed by all at Seasons. We all got to pick from a variety of menu items.  The kids were pretty excited for their pepperoni rolls, and AA with his Poke Bowl. After lunch we did Living with the land. We all enjoyed it, and the plants section is always interesting to see all the fruit and vegetables that are growing.  They are always creative with patterns of the plants to symbolize things.

We left The land and headed to Journey into the Imagination with Figment.  DD really doesn't enjoy this ride, the kids really did, especially when Figment popped out with a yellow sweater on. Here are the reviews. B met Joy and Vanelope while T sat on the bench.  Joy was very upset that T wasn't participating so got visited from Joy 3 times while we were waiting in line for the next character greeting.  He wasn't too happy about it.

We then began our way exploring the World Showcase.  Sun was hot, so we headed to Canada to cool off..just kidding, it wasn't any cooler, but an indoor theater.  Canada Far and Wide, was a 360 room of view of Canada. It was narrated by Catherine O'Hara and Eugene Levy. We were disappointed there was nothing about Manitoba in the video.

Stopping to see the 50th Statues and getting beer and dole whip.

We made our way to Gran Fiesta in Mexico, AA and Lola had never done this ride before, but AA really likes Donald Duck, so he enjoyed it. After that we headed to Frozen Ever After. This is a fan Favorite, but T was not impressed as he got a little splashed, and he doesn't like to be splashed. We did wait about 60 minutes in line, but it was indoors, so we were happy not to be in the beating sun. The ride exits into the gift shop, where DD and MBM decided to shop for rain jackets.  DD forgot a rain jacket and MBM's jacket isn't very water proof. Pretty funny place to buy a jacket, but when in Norway....

AA teaching new games while in line for Frozen Ever After

We continued walking around the World Showcase to head to Remy's Ratatouille, which also had a long wait, but we really wanted to go on this ride. MBM and DD had rode this ride in Paris 6 years ago, so they really were curious if it was the same. The ride was excellent, and Lola screamed a few times... it is hard being a Rat!

Killing some time before supper we headed to Beauty and the Beast Sing along. We were all seated in the theater, when B asked politely for Lola to with with her. Lola agreed, not really understanding why, but hey maybe she wanted to sit with AA.  Turns out the guy behind her told her that he was going to sing really loud, and she wanted nothing to do with that. I sure was suckered into changing.  Turned out he did sing along with all the songs but so did Lola.

We then headed to supper at Biergarten a fan favorite.  The food was better than we all remembered, and a buffet which we haven't seen in years. The entertainment was excellent, and the Beers were big!  We all ate way too much enjoyed dessert and each others company.

Once supper was completed we were going to walk around, but decided to get a spot for the fireworks, to ensure the kids could see, as it was on the water. We waited for almost an hour, but the kids did very well, and Lola got herself a special tea. Harmonious was a mix of water, light, fireworks, pyrotechnics and music.  The show features many different nations using the music and imagery from films. It was very neat, and mix about whether it was better than the Magic Kingdom show.

Once the show was over, we made our way to the bus, stopping for some photos of the ball at night. The entire way B and T were talking about Mythical Creatures with DD.

It was another late night, but the kids were in bed by 11.  Tomorrow is a Rest day, with only thing planned being our meals.

Lola.
