Florida 2022 - Day 6

We "slept-in" today, and our alarms only started going off at 8 am. Before bed last night we decided we were going to go later to the park to try and be able to stay late for the fireworks show. After we blogged we also played a game of cribbage.... Lola was in the lead most of the game but DD pulled ahead just at the right moment and won the game.  It was an early night as we were up pretty late.

Back to today.  After breakfast in our room, we headed to Magic Kingdom at about 9ish, headed for the bus stop and off to the park, getting there around 10 am.

We knew it was going to be a hot one.... 31 feels like 32 most of the day so we tried to the long waits and indoor activities as much as possible.  I think we were pretty successful.

We entered the park, and wow, the castle was impressive decked out with its 50th attire. Also MBM got us shirt, that a lot of the cast members were pretty excited about as it matched their masks that they got at the beginning of the pandemic.

First off Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.  The longest wait of the day, but there was decent shade and some fans.

Up next we went to watch the parade, It was good, but wow it was hot standing in the sun!  B and T really enjoyed it, B's favorite part was the Dragon from Maleficent, blowing fire. (sorry I didn't take photos of the parade, just of us waiting)

We headed for lunch, but were a little early, so T and B suggested the Aladdin Magic Carpets. They are too young to go by themselves, so DD and Lola headed on the ride with them. The kids wanted to sit in the front and drive, so we were in for a very Up and down ride.

After the ride we headed for lunch at Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen. Even though we had a reservation at 1:10, we had to wait and it was hot.  We made it into the air conditioning, and had a great lunch, where we could sit down, enjoy the air, and the boys could drink beer!  The food was very good, and the kids really enjoyed their Volcano Cake. Magic Kingdom is the only park that you can't walk around with Alcohol, so you have to be at a sit down restaurant to order it. MBM had a Dole Whip Colada!

After lunch we went on the Haunted Mansion, followed by the Hall of Presidents. Both were very good and indoor Cool activities.

We headed to Pirates of the Caribbean after that, which is also indoors. T was worried about getting splashed, but luckily barely got anything.

Big Thunder Railroad was next.  That line queue was only about 25 minutes, so it wasn't bad, but no air movement in the line, so we all got pretty hot. The ride was liked by all except T said it was ok.

We caught the Cavalcade as we were walking to supper at Pecos Bills Tall Tavern. We didn't enjoy this as all the rest of our meals so far. It was a little different since covid.  There used to be a buffet to get all your taco toppings, but not any more.

We then went to see princess Elena and Cinderella.  T was so funny with his comments in the room that the cast member in charge had to leave as he was breaking his character (which wasn't allowed).  Just being himself, but so funny, it all started with not knowing which way the marker would come out of the pen, and getting marker on his hand.

We then headed to see the new fire works show.  We arrived and got a spot, which was ok, but there was a street light blocking our view, but everyone could see the castle which was important.  This was the highlight of our day. The Disney Enchantment Fireworks and lights were amazing, lighting up the castle for the 50th anniversary of Disney World.  It is amazing the lighting, and fireworks quality.  B and T really enjoyed this, they were so excited throughout the show.  Lola took a million photos.

Headed to the Jungle Cruise after the fire works in hopes that line would be short, as most people were leaving the park. The sign still said 40 minutes but to our surprise we pretty much walked on the second boat. We waited maybe 5 minutes.

Dole whip was enjoyed by MBM, AA, Lola and B before heading back to the hotel, while T and DD hit up the Magic Carpets once again.

It rained on us as we were leaving the park, so we got a little wet, but managed to catch the bus that was there when we got to the stop, to not have to wait for another.

Back at the hotel, we quickly rinsed off and went to bed. We have another big day tomorrow, and then we get the long awaited rest day!

Lola.
