Rest day is complete, and bed time is early as we are trying to get to Animal Kingdom for early park admission tomorrow.
Today we spent the day at the hotel at Animal Kingdom Lodge. We had some ups and downs with the kids, but overall it was a good day. We spent most of the morning on the balcony watching the animals graze and walk around. The Giraffes, zebras are Lola's favorite, we also saw cattle with very long horns, impalas, and other 4 legged deer like animals (but not deer), just cant remember all their names.
We went to the different look outs and Lola asked about a path along the hotel, which a the information guy took us down to see more animals (through 2 locked gates), he was very knowledgable and answered all our questions, even B's questions about random bugs.
We headed to our lunch reservation in our hotel, Sanaa. Everyone loved the Bread Service, while Lola had a watermelon salad that tasted like black liquorice. DD loved bread, and all the sauces, and said this was the best appetizer he has ever had.
The meals were so good, with us all having a variety, brazed beef, butter chicken, pork and the kids with pizza (which was made on naan bread). The kids even had Pumba's grub for dessert which was like a s'more in a bowl with chocolate rocks, gummy worms and a tuff of grass made from icing. Our seats weren't by the window, but we still got a few looks at the animals as they walked by.
After lunch we got back to the room and of course went straight to the balcony to watch more animals. This experience is unreal, and so neat!
We headed out for another "pool" crawl. Starting at the pool at our hotel (Kidani Village) and then went to the one at Jambo House. At the first pool it had a better waterslide, smaller pool, and a great spot for MBM to have a nap. The Second pool was much bigger with not as big of a waterslide. The kids were at thier best behaviour and listening skills in the pool today! Lola even spend some 1 on 2 time with the kids in the pool while the other adults hung out pool side. Lola put on DDs goggles and did some tricks with the kids (wishes she would have remembered her nose plug and she would have been able to do so much more).
We had quick service at The Mara (which was right next to the pool). Typical, Hamburgers and Chicken Fingers, but we enjoyed it, and got to sit out side in our bathing suits.
We walked back to the hotel, stopped for roasting marshmallows on the way back. The kids enjoyed the "dessert". We were going to head back to watch Enchanto, but realized we needed to go to bed and not sit out side and watch a movie for 2 hours starting at 9. We got back to the hotel to have showers, do some journal writing, animal watching, laundry and game playing.
This resort hotel is like nothing else we have ever been at and sure a treat! to see so many animals in their "natural" habitat.
Skip-bo, MBM won again. |
Night, Lola. (sorry for all the animal photos, but it is just so cool!)
Don't be sorry for all the animal pictures. This is what this part of your adventure is about and it is amazing!
