One more trip before vacation

My stay at home was short lived. After a busy long weekend with Janet's 60th birthday and resting to try to clear my cold, it was back to work on Tuesday in the office before having to leave again Wednesday morning for Montreal.

Lola dropped me off this morning, early so she could get to work relatively on time. I used one of my lounge passes that expire at the end of the month to grab breakfast and a coffee. I was getting a little bit of work done when I heard the gate agent start to call for boarding - early. So I packed up and made my way onto the plane.

3 hrs later I arrived in Montreal. Emails already drafted and in my outbox on my phone so that as soon as it connected to data, emails could be sent. I got my rental car (Dodge Journey, not terrible as it is better than the Rav 4 that I had a couple weeks ago) and picked up a sandwich from Subway while on my way to Bombardier.

Luckily there were not videographers or reporters standing outside trying to interview people to get their take on the 7,000 layoffs that were announced in the morning. Inside, the mood was depressing, people all talking about the news and wondering if they will have a job in a few months.

Fortunately, the airplane was ready and so was the paperwork so my inspection started on time.

Afterwards, a few more hours of work and then to the hotel to check in and hit the gym. Dinner was rotisserie chicken with a salad bar - one of my favourite things ;)

We will see when I get to go home. There are maybe two more inspections this week but they do not know if or when they will happen. It's always good when they ask "when is your flight home?"  Unfortunately I don't have a flight booked yet, but should be able to book tomorrow with some confidence.

No picture from today, but here are some good Canadiana Valentines I came across on the weekend:
