And we are off!

It was an early morning today. Or as Mell put it "or a late night".

Our taxis came to pick us up at 4:45, arriving early at 4:30. This was good, we needed a few extra minutes to load the cars and get car seats secured.

Once at the airport and baggage checked, we had a short wait at the gate before the flight. Babies got a diaper change and then we boarded.

The first flight went pretty well. Toddlers and adults slept for most of the flight.

Once in Vancouver it was a fast walk to get through US Customs only to wait for our bags to show up on the screen. AA was getting worried, starting to get flashbacks to last year when his bag didn't make it to Calgary en route to Los Angeles.

Alas, our bags (well it was mostly a car seat) showed up. Once through Customs, we quickly made our way to a restaurant for breakfast and quickly put the waitress to work helping get us some water for the kids, hot water to thaw some milk and then some ice to keep the milk cold in Mell's cooler.

We then had to hurry to our flight that was already "fully boarded".

Once at the gate we realized that we didn't get water like we were hoping. So AA went back and filled up 2/3 of the bottles of water and walked onto the plane. The flight isn't very full so we actually have two rows to our selves. It's nice to be able to spread out.

This time it was more of a challenge to get the toddlers settled into the flight. Brinley and the girls were first to fall asleep.

Turner - not so much:

However, after 15 mins of Cars on the iPad he was finally tired enough to want to sleep.

After landing at 2:45, we made our way to get our rental van. At 3:45 we were on our way and made it to our house by 5pm.

The place is close to the water, as you can see:

Well, we are going to make our way for some food then grocery shopping for the week.

Aloha!
