Once Mell and Devin had come out of their room, we had things to do places to be. DD had an important business meeting, so while that happend, the three other adults packed, ate breakfast and got the twinkies ready for the day. And away we went, only 10 minutes behind schedule.
We arrived back at the a Turtle bay resort, for MB and DD's couple massage. The rest of us went for another adventure hike around the resort, this time we went the other direction. Well first we had to go through a lot of yogis. The place was packed with yoga wearing, mat carrying, tent sleeping people's. Some get together called Wanderlust.
We eventually found our way along a path where the twinkies got pushed by AA on paved and some unpaved paths. We went past the Palmer golf course and also made it to Kahuku point. We made our way back to the resort to wait for the happy couple and keep hydrated. Lola also changed diapers, and tried on some clothes from the store near by.
We made our way back to the Quest (our Nissan van) and off to Haleiwa Joes for lunch. It was in a town we hadn't been to before ( which we are hoping to go back tomorrow too). The food was excellent, with the highlights being the Wasabi Ranch dipping sauce AA had on his fish sandwich (that he let all experience, except of course Lola) and the bird that was scavenging under T's highchair, that Lola and MB were a little afraid off.
We got back in the Quest and headed down the island to get to Manoa Falls. On the way we past different countryside including pineapple fields and coffee plantations. The drive was longer than expected since we hit rush hour going into Honolulu so plans changed.... No swimming in the waterfall... But let's go to the beach instead since we had dinner reservation at Hard Rock, we didn't want to miss.
Arriving at Waikiki beach was nice and warm, and playing in the sand, and swimming in the ocean was a success. The twinkies enjoyed it even more this time. Kicking splashing and smiling. Lola wasn't very happy because he camera lense stopped her camera from working. Not sure how she is going to document the rest of the trip without it, she will have to use one of the other 3 cameras AA brought or steel MB's. But non the less she took some photos with other cameras from the shore, while protecting the personal belongings on the beach while others went in the ocean.
Off to Hard Rock Cafe to enjoy some beverages and Faijitas. Although AA broke tradition and had a hamburger instead. All of us ordered from the "local" features part of the menu which was fantastic. T even hit it off with our waitress, holding her hand, playing with her swipe card and convincing her to send all her other lady friends over to chat. B on the other hand didn't eat much supper and decided to fall asleep on Lola after a much needed diaper change.
After a great meal, we headed down to the beach for the Hilton fireworks. We made it just as they were about to start and good thing we did as they only lasted 4 minutes. We remember them being much longer and higher in the sky. Then we headed to the Hilton to the site where DD and MB got engaged 5 years ago, (one day too soon). It was so romantic. Then I asked for a photo of me and AA, Devin got a hold of the camera and sure had a great time.
Then the photo rampage by DD.
Returning back to the car after an unsuccessful sit down for one more drink (as most of the resturatunts were 45 minute wait) . Lola drove home safely, only one wrong lane that caused a drive around the block. The 4 backseat riders feel sleep.
It was a busy day with lots of driving and traffic, tomorrow we plan on staying on the north side of the island, but hopefully we can get up in the morning as it is past midnight and only the Twinkies are sleeping.
Let's see what tomorrow brings, I am hoping for Waterfalls, Pineapples and a little shopping!
Night, Lola.
Leave you all with one more photo, never too much sun screen...
