Day 2

Arizona Adam here, I was told it is my day to blog.

Today we went to Pearl Harbor to go to the Pacific Air Museum, mostly for the food - Lola found a fried rice dish with spam and pineapple the last time we went and so we had to go back. We left the house at 10am and arrived shortly after 11. But not before AA tried to drive onto the military base instead of going to the visitors centre. Silly GPS.

Once at the visitors centre, we had to find a parking spot. Lola was getting anxious and the spot that AA found (in the middle of a parking lot for an aquatic centre) did not help. But not to worry.

We got our tickets to see the Arizona Memorial at 2:30 and then boarded the tour bus to get shuttled over to Ford Island where the Museum is.

The Museum was quite different from the last time we were there. Some indoor exhibits were now finished, the Tower was repainted and the Hangar was much more put together and organized.

What didn't change was the pineapple fried rice - Lola loved it, again. AA and Dyscourse Devin (DD) got to enjoy a beer, something different from the last time they were there.

After walking around and checking out the refinished Tower, we made our way to wait for the bus. There was standing room only but we made it back to the visitor centre in time to go on the Arizona Memorial tour.

The tour started with a 20 min video and then a short boat ride over to the resting spot of the USS Arizona.

However, at the end of the documentary one of the guides informed us that the Navy advised them that the boat needed to be fixed and the tour would not continue. Oh well, the Arizona Memorial is free of charge so we weren't out any money. However, DD and Mell are now 0 for 2 with planned events :)

After Pearl Harbour, we made our way to Kailua Beach. The twinkies sure enjoyed the sand and Brinley  liked the water, Turner not so much.

After a quick swim, we changed and went to Buzz's (right across the street from the beach) for supper.

Dinner was delicious but the babies were tired so we quickly ate and headed home.

Tomorrow we are going to see if a surf competition called The Eddie is on - all indications are saying yes after about a week and a half of delays due to the surf being too big and dangerous. We also hope to do a hike before coming back to pick up toddlers and go to the Dole Plantation.

It's been a busy day out in the sun, time for some sleep.

Goodnight!
