Celebrating milestones

Well AA came home on Friday to be put into a cold car and make the drive to Morden for Janet's surprise 60th birthday party. We got our Tim Hortons and as we are waiting to turn to continue south AA remembered that he had brought Lola some smoked meat in his suitcase... And left it there. So turning around was necessary as Lola didn't want to let that go to waste.

The meat was saved, but now we were running late. Party started at 7... It was 5:30, and Friday afternoon traffic is not fun.

Detour on grant to shaftsbury to avoid the long left turn that is backed up to superstore entrance, to of course, get stopped by a train.

We arrived to the party at 7, luckily Mary felt the need to stall the arrival of Janet for some reason but I was thankful.

My mom was surprised that we had made it as Lola and Adam have been very busy this week working and working and more working.

Lola did manage to make a cake, and card for the festivities as well as bring the candles while working a 50 hour work week.

The party was a success, many of Janet's friends young and old helped celebrate by answering Brian's trivia questions, sharing stories and enjoying kind words. Not only was it Lola's mothers birthday but also Lola's parents 39th wedding anniversary. Here are a few photos from the party.

Now in the car on our way back to Winnipeg to have our family celebration.
We will see how the party goes as AA has a nasty cold and Lola feels like she is swallowing razer blades.

AA likely has to go back to Montreal on Tuesday and Lola has another full week of work.

Hope you all stay warm!
