Today we went to the zoo. When Lola was in Germany, she saw that the Paris zoo was in the top 5 most beautiful zoos in the world so suggested we visited.
AA and B went to the bakery in the morning to get breakfast and like AA does he had the table set and ready for everyone’s arrival. Lola cut up the new mystery cheese (which was harder today) and AA boiled the eggs. T wasn’t having the best morning and was upset about the pastry he got purchased for him, so was a little angry, but turned it around when Lola made him a scrambled egg with cheese and he had a plain croissant.
On our way to the metro station, AA returned the glass bottles into a container on the way, we were all impressed that he knew where it was, but he used google. DD thinks they have bottle returns on the streets and not just in the bins to control people going through the garbages, looking for glass bottles to return.
We travelled on a few new modes of transportation today, including a Tram to get there, and a bus to get back. It all worked with the cards we purchased, so that was a bonus! B made sure to journal.
We made it to the gate of Parc Zoologique de Paris and MBM really had to pee, but thankfully she made it into the gate before she peed herself.
It was a beautiful zoo, there was 5 different ecosystems, that not only had the animals of that region but also the plants and landscapes. Lola downloaded the app so they could hear about the specific animals along the way in English.
We went through Patagonia, Africa, Europe, Amazon and Madagascar. There were too many cool animals and living together (kind of like the safari park in San Diego). It wasn’t individual animals in one pen, but different animals living in a landscape.
DD was feeling very cold, so he tried to participate, but was having a hard time.
Half way through the park, we stopped for lunch (just after Africa), The food wasn’t great, but it was food. Lola and T had a burger, AA and DD had the chicken sandwich (which was just chicken fingers on a bun), MBM had the fish and chips, and B of course had the pasta. DD was just happy it was warm in there.
Some of the great animals we saw include the Humboldt Penguins, Lions (although the male was hiding his head), White Rhino, Grevy’s Zebra (that was very different looking than any other zebra we had seen before), Guinea Baboon, Vultures, Wolverine, Manatee, and the list goes on and on.
a photographer we couldn't get rid of that wanted to sell us the photos. |
But the coolest and most special, was a lady said, did you see the baby giraffe? (English was not very good), she lead us to the baby giraffe, we would have missed it if she hadn’t said something to us. We walked to the Giraffe house and found the baby that was only 2 weeks old, born on September 12, 2025. It was so cute, and so big already, we found an article that said it was 1.65m already, but the translation of the article we aren’t sure if it is male or female.
the lady showing us the way! |
MBM and Lola could have stayed in there all day looking at this cute creature.
Other animals that we don’t think we have ever seen before was the black Jaguar and the Bush Dog.
DD loved the large green house as it was very warm in there. It was full of birds, reptiles, monkeys, bats and so much more.
it was too big to take a photo of... the greenhouse is in the background. |
After the zoo, we visited the gift shop, and headed to the catch the bus to head back to our place. We took the bus to the metro to the train. Once off the train we decided we would go get some food for supper, including a stop at the bakery for dessert. So we made a plan of what we were getting to eat, Chicken, tomato sauce, rice, broccoli, beer, bagel, and Lola needed to get a toothbrush because she fried her charger we think, and it is running low.
Bus stop with the original storm trooper |
beer and baggett We stopped at the house to drop off the food, and we all headed to the bakery. Everyone picked out a dessert (except Lola picked out one for AA), and we went on our way back. |
At our place, we had some downtime, which we all needed. DD napped, others played video games and read. At this time, Lola’s back was really started to get tight. She did some stretching, but wow this 40 thing is really getting to her. She could barely stand up straight. Lola did s a few loads of laundry, and made supper.
T had a shower, and B had a bath before dinner. Dinner turned out really well, but too much rice was cooked. Everyone enjoyed their desserts. AA with the Lemon Tartlette, B with a giant Macron, T with an Eclair Chocolate, MBM with a Paris Brest and D with the Flan Nature. No one complained about their choices.
After dinner we played a round of Monopoly Deal with the kids (AA won), and then Lola and the kids packed their bags and they went to bed. The rest of us continued to play (each taking a turn winning). Then MBM took a bath to try and ease her sore muscles, and the rest of us played Cribbage. DD finally won the 3rd game.
AA isn’t feeling the greatest, so we will see how tomorrow goes. His throat feels a little funny and a little congested, hopefully he can make it through.
Lola.
