In the morning we at breakfast in the room and the twinkies were very excited to go back to the water park! We were checking out of the hotel, getting a new wristband for the day (included in the resort stay) and driving to the East park. Yesterday we did the West park (which was the location of our resort too). Google didn't know where the parking was, and DD didn't believe me that he shouldn't turn, so we did a little detour before getting to the Schlitterbahn east parking lot. We entered the park, rented 2 lockers, and away we went to explore the other side.
This side seems newer and we were hoping had better signage. Well yes it was newer, but the signage and navigation to get from section to section was still rather difficult. I feel like we walked a lot more than we needed to. We had a great time exploring the different pools, lazy rivers, kid waterslides and enjoying the twinkies play! Today we got to go on some larger waterslides in a pirate ship, B enjoyed it the most, and even learnt to put her head up before hitting the end of the slide. T enjoyed the lazy rivers a lot more today, it was a little less intense of a thrill, and he loves being on the tubes with the animals.
Lola's highlight of the day was dealing with a poopy situation. We were in a kiddy pool (water not very deep) when we noticed T was pushing. We got him out of the water as he had pooped. MBMell and Lola took him to the washroom to try and see how we could deal with this. DD stayed with B who was happy to stay in the water. This was the first time MBMell had poop in the cloth swim diapers. and surprisingly it kept the poop in. T had 3 layers on the bottom, and Lola got them all off but needed some paper towel to wipe his dirty bum off. As she went to go get some she asked MBMell if she could deal with the poop in the diaper, she answered yes. (We were in the shower area, so it had to be brought to the toilet). As Lola turned around from the paper towel dispenser, she noticed MBMell was in the corner (away from T) heaving a little.... ok change in plans. Lola will take the poopy cloth diaper to the toilet, and Mom will clean up turner. Surprisingly we got all the layers pretty clean, and back on T, who was worried he didn't get to say goodbye to the Whale he named Bruce that was in the kiddy pool where the incident started. Lola laughed a lot of the day reminiscing on how close MBMell was to throwing up her lunch.
At about 2 it was getting real hot, and our sunscreen was far away, so we decided we should get back to our lockers, clean up and off to our next adventure. We have decided we will have to bring AA back here the next time (as it isn't a very far drive from Austin), oh and he has to bring his underwater camera. Not a lot of photos, but we got a good group shot once all cleaned up and ready to leave. The twinkies also said good bye to Schlitterbahn as we left the gate.
We had fun!
Next up a 20 minute drive to the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch.
It was a neat place with African Animals "up next African Animals" was said by B as we drive through the many gates. We drove around slowly feeding the animals we could the alfalfa pelts included in the admission.
It was pretty neat. Favourites, all the deer like animals close to the car (like feeding them right there), the giraffes, the close encounters of the Zebras and the swimming Llama! T was pretty tired by the time we saw the Llama, but wow did he talk about it after. We let the twinkies out of the carseats, as they couldn't see much from the angle the height. We also got out to take a closer look at the giraffes. A petting zoo where the goats were all different shapes and sizes ended our adventure at the wildlife ranch, Texas style! Here are a whole bunch of photos in no good order, but they are from 2 different sources and didn't upload very nice.
B upset we have to leave the giraffes.
Just over an hour drive home, T was out super quick while B enjoyed bugging Lola all the way home. She had her cute moments, but also had her moments where her feet were at Lola's throat and locking her seatbelt by pulling quickly on it.
About half way back, DD started to not feel so well. We tried to get into a Texas Roadhouse close to their place, but after waiting a few minutes for a table, DD really wasn't feeling well, so we packed up and headed to McDonalds for supper, and to allow DD to have a rest.
Thats DD under the blanket!
We ate, chatted about our day, had bath, and the twinkies went straight to bed. DD slept on the couch, poor guy.
The ladies, cleaned up, did some laundry, dishes and tried to get the house back to normal after unloading the car.
It was a great day! Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.
Lola.
