A short walk and wait in a line as the restaurant didn’t open till 11:30am. We headed into Bistrot Chez Remy, where T was still upset about the children’s menu he had to order from. The theming was amazing feeling like we were rats in the restaurant. Bottle cap chairs, drink umbrellas, mustard and jam lids for tables, cork stools, Tacks, mini lights, spoons as lights and giant plates. The food was very good. Interesting, they gave Lola different fork and knife because it was cleaned with Corn (Maize).
Lola and T had chicken, B pasta, and the other adults had Fish. MBM was very excited about her Hibiscus Kambucha to drink. The food was great, but DD wishes we got bread. Not sure if we didn’t get it because of Lola, but he survived. The adults also had a different soup than the kids, and the adults couldn’t figure out what kind it was, it was green.
For dessert everyone got chocolate mousse, while T got the Eclair…that looked like a Rat!. B and AA traded as AA knew he wanted a smaller portion, and B enjoyed every last bite. After people ordered we saw that another table had dessert that looked like a piece of cheese, super cool.
Next up we went to Stitch Live! In English (they have both French and English shows). No photos allowed in the studio. It was like Turtle Talk with Crush, but Stitch. It was hilarious, and one our favourite things is when T just laughs so hard at the funny jokes. It is so cute, and makes us all laugh even harder. Stitch sang Merry Stitchmas to himself and interacted with the crowd. He picked on the guy sitting right beside Lola, Erik from Germany. He was so embarrassed that Stitch said he had a grumpy face, and even put his mug shot on the screen. It was so good and we are all happy they didn’t pick on us. It was about 2 pm and we headed across the way to Disneyland to be able to watch the parade.
We headed to star tours (where MBM sat out). The queue was a little different than the others with a big screen with stats about different Star Wars destinations and the weather. We got on the ride, and they saw Lola’s birthday button and the guy getting us all in the seats, asked if I spoke English or French and sang happy birthday to Lola in English, and the rest of the birthday people in the “aircraft”. The kids were also excited as they have watched the Star Wars movies now. So T knew what the “show” the ride was based on. It felt like the ship was under water which is a neat affect. We enjoyed it, and found MBM after the ride.
After that, the kids really wanted to go on Hyperspace Mountain, so we let them go… all by themselves. We told them we would meet them at the exit. They went off so fast Lola didn’t even snap a photo of them going by themselves. The adults enjoyed about 25 minutes to themselves.
They were so excited when they got off, and T had the number ready for us so we could get them photo passed.
Then we went into the Nautilus, it reminded us of 20,000 leagues under the sea, but no ride, just a walk through. There was even a spiral staircase that reminded us of the stairs we took when we evacuated out of the ride in Japan.
missed getting the kids in the photo |

It was called Stars on Parade, and had some neat floats and dancers as always. Fan favorite are always the toy soldiers. Lots of characters, but unfortunately Lola didn’t find the music very catchy. It was still a good show.
After the parade we headed to Big Thunder Mountain, only a 35 minute wait, which wasn’t too bad. There was one section of the queue that was very maze like, but we made it to the loading area. Very excited to ride this one, as MBM said it was their favourite Big Thunder.
This one the Mountain is actually on an island, so you go through a tunnel 2 times (which is very dark) and then out into the mountain. The ride is so much fun, and pretty long. We all enjoyed it so much!. We all agreed it was the best Big Thunder.
Once done there we headed to our MBM Birthday Dinner that Lola had booked. It was at Walt’s an American Restaurant. (It was highly rated when Lola was doing research and thought it was fitting for a birthday celebration).
T promised not to be super grumpy about the children’s menu as it was MBM’s birthday. It was a fancy restaurant with photos and memorabilia all about Walt Disney.
Pea Soup, Salad, Chicken pot pie and Savory Mickey Waffle with Veggies for starters. Then Main Course was Chilli con Carne (actually came in a ceramic can), Chicken with Golden Honey and Cajun Spice, and Mac and Cheese. Desert was Lemon Meringue Tart, Pineapple Upside Down cake, fruit plate, Ice Cream Sundae and the Passion Fruit, Milk Chocolate and Coconut Biscuit Entremet Dessert with Mango Coulis (and yes B said the entire thing when she ordered it, it was super cute, and funny).
Lola didn’t know that there was dessert included in the meals, so she also ordered a birthday cake. The servers came out and sang happy birthday to MBM and then everyone had to eat another piece of cake.
We really wanted to see the evening show, and it was close to 9 pm when it started, so 4 of us rushed out to get a spot on the street, while AA and DD paid, but made it in time. We didn’t have the best view, but it was amazing.
It was a combination of fireworks, water projections, drones and projections on the buildings, as well as music. We were standing beside 3 guys who knew all the words to all the songs, clearly not their first time watching it. It was just over 20 minute show, and we all enjoyed it.
Cheers, Lola.
