40th Birthday Trip - Day 17 - Disneyland Day 2 (Sept 30, 2025) - Part 1

This morning the kids weren’t to excited about getting up, but we got them to the hotel breakfast at about 7:30am.  Good thing we went when we when we left the line to get into breakfast was huge.  We had the buffet breakfast.  There was some water that tasted like salt water, and unlabeled and couldn’t figure it out.

Lola and MBM were trying to get to close to “early Admission” as it was 1 hour before the park opened to the general public (only for Disney hotel guests).   The sun was shining and we got to the park just after early access at about 8:45am.  We went to the other park this morning, Walt Disney Studios, there is a cool water tower with mickey ears.

The entrance is super cool, as you have to walk through a Movie studio to enter the park.  Yes don't be fooled by the darkness of inside... you really forget it is light/day outside.

First up we went to Ratatouille, L’Aventure Totalement Toques de Remy.  The wait time was only 5 minutes, in Florida this would be a crazy wait already. It was weird just walking onto the ride, and not having a million people in the queue.   You could see the restaurant through the window which Lola got a reservation for, so that was fun. The ride is just as good even in French.

We then walk to the Avengers Campus to head to Spiderman Web Slingers.  We talked about the 40 degree weather we were in in California waiting for over an hour for the ride, when it was brand new, as it kept breaking down, we were so hot waiting.  This was a very different experience, pretty much walked right on the ride.  We got on before the park opened to the general public. It was boy vs girls, and the girls beat the boys as always.  B wasn’t doing that great at the beginning, after the first screen, Lola had over 50,000, while B only had 17,000 but really pulled up her socks, and came through to beat everyone in the end.   Girls 696,000 points while the boys got 654,600.

Final Scores:

B - 249900

Lola - 240900

MBM - 143700

DD - 238,200

AA - 205,800

T - 142,200

After that ride your arms are so sore….we all enjoyed it, but forgot to take a ride review.

Next up we went on the Avengers Rollercoaster.  MBM had done some research to see if it was intense like the Hyperspace mountain, and it had mixed reviews on which was more intense. She sat the ride out but the rest of us went on it.  It was also a short wait, and we got on before 9:30am. T decided he liked roller coasters that were in a building/in the dark, as you can’t see what you are getting yourself into, and therefore can’t psych yourself out.  We all enjoyed this coaster it was smoother, but just as intense as Hyperspace.  The adults preferred the Avengers while the kids still liked Hyperspace better.

Next up, Lola, B and AA went on Tower of Terror.  B was unsure if she really wanted to go but came anyways. The  Lola tried not to scream, and definitely didn’t scream as much as some other ladies on the ride.  We had the front row, and it was super good.  We don’t really know much about the twilight zone (as that is the theme), but still enjoyed it.  There was a girl ghost that was trying to get you to go different places as you went up and down the elevator.

While we were on the ride, MBM, D and T went and got us Birthday Buttons.  MBM had to “lie” as Lola wasn’t there, and panicked, they thought the birthday was for T as well, not really sure what went on, but super excited to have a birthday pin.

Next up we wanted to try the Cars Road Trip Ride.  It was really hard to find, we walked around the cars area, where it was not, and then had to walk through “Paris”, Toy Story land and a long walk to get to the area.  We did see the Frozen mountain and peak of Airendel building on our way (unfortunately that is opening up in 2026).  It look like it is going to be similar to what was build in Japan.

We finally made it to the Cars Road Trip.  We were like what are we getting ourself into.  There is a sign that says you might get wet, and we saw this “semi” with a lot of trailers full of people pulling up.  We had to wait for the second semi to get there, but we hopped on.  As we were on the ride, we are like this must be re-themed.  This at least was “re-themed” entirely, but pretty lame.  We rode around looking at some “monuments” and then ended up feeling like we were in a crazy canon damn breaking as the water rushed onto of our semi trailer, and down the canon. It used to be a studio tour, just like Universal Studios had…it was very interesting, and Lola is the only one that got wet…

It was only 11am at this point, and we headed to the others cars ride (across the park), before heading to our lunch reservation.  We went on Quatre Rovers Rallye, which was a kind of like Luigi’s Rollickin’ Rosters, but the cars are way smaller and you get really close to the other cars.  It goes pretty fast. A ride Review and we headed to lunch.

Lunch in the next post.....
