This morning, DD decided he wasn’t going to join us for breakfast, or park opening…. His loss. He really wanted to sleep in. Unfortunately there was no do not disturb sign on the doors, and house keeping kept knocking and he was a little annoyed.
The rest of us got done for breakfast at 7:20, as we wanted to get to rope drop, and the kids were very excited. We ate food, MBM enjoyed her festive croissant, as today was officially the “first day of Halloween” at the park. B enjoyed her crepes with lots of maple syrup, and her 6 sausages.
We walked to the park, and on our way enjoyed some of the people free pumpkins and walking through security without a line. We took some photos with the new Halloween stuff, as today was the official start of Halloween. The app even changed :) and Lego display on our walk to the park entrance as there weren’t very many people around unfortunately DD wasn’t there.
We made it to the Disneyland gate at around 8:15am, and there were only about 25 people in front of us, we did awesome. AA was very excited to take photos of the castle with a little amount of people, and T was sure excited to ride Peter Pan (as the day goes one the wait times are crazy for that ride, 50+ minutes.
They opened the gates, and Halloween Mickey and Minnie were on the balcony greeting us. T was very concerned we were stopping to take photos as he really wanted to make it to Peter Pan. AA went ahead to take photos of the castle and we made our way. We sure love an empty park.

the people waiting behind us! |
This was the first time we walked through the centre of the castle. It has beautiful stained glass. We made it to Peter Pan’s Flight and the wait was still 5 minutes. It is a pretty good version, and the same as Disneyland California.
Then we headed to Big Thunder as it only had a 15 minute wait, skipped the confusing maze portion of the line up which was nice, and pretty much got on in 10 minutes, it was awesome. The kids decided we needed to do a ride review on the ride. T was positive he knew where the camera was. We were also right at the front of the train which made it even better.
So Mr Positive didn’t really know where the camera was, so we spent most of the ride with our “ride review” thumbs, but Lola was pretty sure she knew where it was at the beginning ish of the ride, with the splash of water. It was so much fun, and hilarious as most of the ride was done with our thumbs up. The ride was still super good, and we got the photo!
It was till before 9:30, and the kids really wanted to do Hyperspace Mountain, MBM definitely was not doing that again, and AA and Lola decided to give it another try. So off we went zig zagging across the empty park. Nothing beats a 5 minute wait time, and they only had one side loading that is how dead it was. It was pretty good the second time. Lola didn’t even scream, just tried to enjoy it.
Back through the castle and across the park to make it to Pirates Of the Caribbean before the “general” admission get there. Another 5 minute walk on experience, this time T wasn’t very excited about going on the ride, but still did it for us.
We were supposed to be back at the room by 10, but we didn’t get there till 10:20, but it was ok, as DD had mostly packed up the stuff before we got there. We had till 11 to check out, and we made it with plenty of time. Packed up and tried to get our luggage taken to the train station but missed it by a few minutes. Therefore we had to get our luggage in storage at the hotel, and we had other go back there at the end of the day. Not big deal.
After that we headed to do some shopping before our lunch reservation. T decided to get a custom mini fig from the Lego store. B had her heart set on an Angel Stuffed animal Pillow (from Lilo and Stitch). Unfortunately, there was some miscommunication between MBM and B, and it was much larger than B had explained, therefore she was not allowed to purchase it. This caused a little heart ache, and B couldn’t find anything else she wanted. Lola on the other hand, got all the Disneyland Paris Merchandise, Shirt, Christmas Ornament, puzzle, and pins. MBM also got some Christmas ornaments and pins.
We headed to the Disneyland Hotel for our Royal Banquet Lunch. The lobby was very fancy with a castle in the chandler. We walked to the restaurant through the skywalk. T stopped to take a photo on the throne chair….B was still very upset about the stuffed animal. The lobby of the restaurant was also very fancy, and super neat. We entered the restaurant, and got seated with the gallery of “horses”. They were super cool, and not all horses…. We had fun figuring out which movie they were from.

We got our buffet lunches (and DD said it was the buffet lunch). There were so much food options, and the desserts were crazy. There were also Royal Disney Characters that we got to meet. T wasn’t feeling very good, so only participated with one character, but MBM participated in more this time. They all had beautiful outfits on. B had her “comfort” food of Macaroni and cheese as she was so upset. We all tried the quail eggs (not T), and really enjoyed them, we think it is because the white to yoke ratio is very different than a chicken egg. They were very smooth.
A few desserts were consumed, mostly by B and MBM, but the consensus is the rock with the sword was the best one. There were sure a lot of options.
Once done we headed to the washroom, and on the balcony there was Snow White. We got a few waves, and then headed to the park. On our way out, B decided she could take a photo in the throne.
Back to Disneyland we went. Lola tried to figure out the photo pass that they pre-paid for, which took a while, and the hotel screwed up, but it was too late as we had already checked out. So they transferred all our photos that we had so far to a download card, and we were not able to get anymore.
We sat on the curb for the special Halloween Parade down Main Street. B and DD went to see if they could find something at the stores there, but they came back unsuccessful, and she just couldn’t get that Angel off her mind.
We waited almost 1 hour for the parade, but it was good and worth the Wait. Fall Harvest, and Halloween were shown off, with the best part being the Phantom Mansion Float with zombies dancing in the front. One of them stomped at B would was just sitting on the curb, and scared her…. We think they could see her grumpy face (about Angel). Scrooge McDuck, even made an appearance on a float, and Lola’s favourite Max!
After the parade we headed to the other park, Walt Disney Studios to try and catch the Pixar Show that MBM wanted to see. We waited in the shaded area for about 30 minutes only to find out the show was cancelled. The only successful thing that happened during this time was MBM looked online to see if she could order the Angel, there was actually a flash sale and it was way cheaper just to order it. There was a discussion, and B’s heart was a little unbroken, but she has to pay for the “difference” in price from what the agreed amount of “gift” she was allowed to get.

So the kids convinced us to go on the avengers ride. DD and MBM opted out but the 4 of us went. Why not do 3 roller coasters in 1 day! The wait time was only 5 minutes at 4:47pm. DD and MBM got the Snack break with Groot cookies. Other ate the cookies, and then we said goodbye to the parks. B convinced us to go to Rainforest Cafe, which was in Disney Village. Not the adults first choice, but sure. We all didn’t feel that great after eating there, but B was happy.
We made our way back to the hotel, some of us went to the washroom, and got our luggage. We headed to the bus, and got to the train station. Boarded the train for the 10 minute ride (vs 45minutes by car), and got to our airport hotel.
The Ibis Syle hotel was very interesting themed Space/starwars, but it was one of the only hotels AA could find that had rooms for 4 people. While we were waiting for DD and AA to check into the hotel, Lola convinced the kids to play this iWall. They agreed eventually and then realized it was super fun! We didn’t get connecting rooms, but we got rooms close together. The kids downloaded some shows for the plane, and then MBM and Lola put got them ready for bed. The adults weren’t far behind.
Lola.
