Japan 2024 - Tokyo Disney Seas, Fantasy Springs (June 10)

Today was the day MBMell and Lola had been waiting for the whole trip and why we came back to Tokyo Disneyland Resort.  We got a 1-day passport for Fantasy Springs Magic, which allowed us to experience all the rides inside the new park as well as the restaurants (other than Tinkerbell) as much as we wanted!

First up breakfast at the hotel, Lola had booked reservations for the buffet at the hotel. And we were early enough to see all the Disney/mickey themed food before people ate it all.  It was an early morning of 7:30am. Lola didn’t get any photos of us at the table, but a few of our mickey plates.

We took the monorail to Fantasy Springs as we were staying at Disneyland hotel which was on the other end. And they changed the rules since the first time we had been there, and we didn’t get “early entry” anymore if you stayed at Disneyland hotel, so when we got there the line was pretty long, but it sure moves fast, and we knew we were going straight to the back of the park to Fantasy Springs, so weren’t too worried.

About 30 minutes later, we made it into Fantasy Springs, first stop…. Restroom, for Lola, but we all participated.  Bathroom was clean as always, and enjoyable.

We headed to the first ride of the day.  Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival. We had priority access all day, so essentially we just walked right onto most of the rides. MbMell and DD tried really hard not to see anything about the rides prior to going, no spoilers.
We boarded the boat, and was memorized but the details you couldn’t see of the outdoor ride from walking by, as you floated down the river.  Flynn Rider around the corner and Maximus. Then Flynn Rider was also inside where he gave the side eye, it was amazing.  The floating lanterns were amazing.  We all enjoyed the ride a lot, with T not quite sure.

Up next was Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure.  From past Peter Pan rides, we didn’t know what to expect, but this motion simulator was so good.  We boarded the boat (with no water), and put on our 3D glasses to enjoy the ride. The graphics, and the feeling of going down the water fall was so good.  Lola’s favorite part was with the Lost boys when they were drumming and the boat bounces.  We all really enjoyed it.

We headed to Arendelle and Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey.  The inside was full of artifacts and portraits.  T liked how it was a story… with nothing missing (unlike some other rides where you don’t get to know the whole story).  DD only gave 1 thumbs up, because he didn’t like the part that Lola liked, with the videos on the sails in the ceiling…

We headed to the The Snuggly Duckling for some drinks and photo ops, and just a little rest. They enjoyed Rapunzel’s Magical Milk Tea.

Its only 10:30, and we are headed onto The Frozen ride for the second time.  The group collectively liked it better then second time.

Next up Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure again.…. Kids sat together in the row in front of the 4 adults. 3 minutes into the ride…..it stops.. As if we get evacuated from a ride for the second time in our Disney Tokyo experience.  This has never happened to us before. “please stay seated until we can get to you, and don’t take photos”. The Evacuation was in Japanese and English, but we were pros already.  Get in the line, and follow till we get everyone out. DD did get yelled at by another passenger for taking photos…. It was an experience we had to document.  This ride was a little less interesting, as it was mostly big screens and a track. This time we had to step down a ladder from the boat, rather than climbing up a ladder like 20,000 leagues under the sea.  Not great reviews, but they gave us a pass for any ride.  It was amazing how many big screens we went by, but don’t know how close we were to the end, but we think pretty close.

Since we got evacuated off that ride, we headed back for out second ride of Rapunzel.  It is just so beautiful.

It was now lunch and we had gone on 5.5 rides! But it was time for lunch. Unfortunately we couldn’t get a reservation for Arendelle as we had made a reservation earlier at the Snuggly Ducking, and there was a waiting period so we headed out of fantasy Springs (making sure we could come back in) for some lunch at the same place we had been before, Yacatan Base Camp Grill (the best meal on property for Lola, and not too far of a walk).  Kids got Mickey Shaped Chicken Nuggets and we ordered the Green Alien Mochi as this was the only place to get it in Disney Seas.

After lunch we decided to do Tower of Terror, as MBMell heard that it was less intense than the one at Disneyland (the last time we had been on it).  MBMell and T decided they didn’t want to participate, so they sat and waited, but we got to go in the priority line, so it didn’t take too long.  Last time Lola went on this ride she was petrified, but she really wanted to have a different experience so tried again.  It had a very different story than at DisneyWorld, Hollywood Studios, but they did a good job as all of us understood what was going on even through it was in Japanese. The four of us enjoyed the ride, way less Up and down than at the Guardians of the Galaxy one in DisneyWorld.

We met back up with our group, to find out they saw the cats from Aristocats, Chip, Pluto and Donald Duck!  We headed back on the train back towards Fantasy Springs (only 2pm at this point).  We re-entered and were happy to find out Peter Pan was back and running.  Try number 2….It was so good, and we had almost finished the first time.

Off to try the popcorn in Fantasy Springs – Roast beef flavoured.  This was a thing, to try out all the popcorn. Our group only had one flavour, and why not Roast Beef.  Mixed reviews, but the more you ate the better it got, and it really did taste like popcorn.  (Lola didn’t have any, and DD doesn’t really like popcorn, so only had a small try).  We also got some “free” drinks from the little stand.  Lola was happy they had Apple Tea Soda!

Next we headed to the Fantasy Springs Store…waiting in the longest line of the day.  The ladies spend a lot more time in the store, trying to find the “exclusive” items, they had little themed sections of each of the rides in the park, and it was a little overwhelming, but we survived, with not exiting with every item in the store.

We went on the Frozen Ride for the 3rd time, then headed to Rapunzel ride for the 3rd time too this time counting how many chameleons, Pascal, we could find (there seems to be one in each scene of the ride, but Lola can’t remember how many we counted.

It was now 5pm, and we headed for our dinner reservation at the Royal Banquet of Arendelle.  The atmosphere in there was amazing.  Although we were very stressed as something happened to our order and we had too many souvenir cutlery sets and missing a meal, but luckily we figured out how to edit the order before entering.  A little stressful point.  The pot pie was so good, and Lola enjoyed the Smoke Salmon salad and meatballs.  The purpled potato thing was interesting, she was hungry so she ate it.  She could only get the Kids Allergy meal, so she got a juice box and jello too. We walked around in the inside and B wanted a photo in the royal chair.  It was very neat, and highly recommend it.

One last selfie in Fantasy Springs and we headed out of that part of the park.  We had 2 passes left as MBMell and T didn’t go on Tower of Terror, so Lola and B went on the roller coaster, Raging Spirits.

We had a priority pass for Soarin’ around 7, and headed that way.  The line for this ride was so long every time we were at Disney Seas, so we knew we could use this pass to get in faster.  The theming is much different than in the USA.  It had lots of different theory’s of flight as we went through the line.  We loved the ride and had awesome seats right in the middle of the whole thing).

And why not use our last priority pass before heading back to the hotel for the night. It has almost been 12 hours in the park, but one of the fan favorites at all the parks, Toy Story Mania!  But unfortunately when we got there was technical difficulties, but they said they were going to open it up right away.  We partnered up, and had a blast as always.

As we were leaving the  park, DD went to get something out of his backpack, and noticed the sunscreen had exploded in his front pocket.  He always has something happen on Soarin’, and this was it. The last time in Epcot he broke the buckle on his backpack.  We closed up the zipper and headed back to the hotel (where we would deal with that).

It was a very long day, but so much fun!  We pretty much had the monorail to ourselves, headed back to the hotel to get the kids to bed, and clean up the sunscreen. It was our last night together, so surprise Japanese snacks were had, and games were played In the little “hallway” between the door and bathroom, so the kids could sleep.  It was an amazing day!

(sorry this post is 4 months late)
