Passat not so new anymore....

Well Lola did it. Made the Passat not so new anymore.  I accidently merged into a car while trying to get back onto portage avenue on our way to baseball.  Damage isn't that bad, but Lola isn't feeling great about the situation.

Hope you are all enjoying the day!  The sun is finally shinning the Mosquitos are out on full force.

Lola is still working out in Southport and driving everyday.  Arizona Adam is happily watching his tucson medivac plane fly around in Quebec, and should be getting his Transport Canada Delegation any day. July 15, 2014 was when he officially had 6 years experience.

We are going camping on the weekend to St Malo with Melissa and Devin, so hopefully the weather is nice and bugs are manageable.

Panos of the Double Rainbow

Ottawa

I'm still trying to think of something that starts with "O" for a clever alliteration...

The workshop today was good. I learned some new things and took lots of notes. It was also different taking breaks throughout the day and an hour lunch.

The first half of the day was gorgeous outside. At lunch, I want to a food court about 3 blocks away and grabbed chicken pad Thai and then sat outside to listen to a live band play.

After the workshop, it was raining but I came prepared with my umbrella:

I am now sitting in Blue Cactus bar and grill at Byward Market (10 min walk) slightly drying off.

It turns out that my jacket has lost 80% of its waterproofness. Good thing I brought the umbrella again.

Here's a shot outside right now:

It's hard to see but the rain is coming down in sheets.

Not sure whatelse to do tonight. Can't exactly wander around and explore.  Perhaps I will go to the mall to kill some time. (It's now raining harder). I've ready caught up on work emails and am blogging before dinner. Hopefully Lola's data connection is good tonight so we can talk/text.

As I suspected, the walkthrus that were planned for Thursday and Friday (ooh lightning) have been delayed to next week. So I get to fly back tomorrow (Wednesday) night. I probably could go to Montreal for the day but would rather go home. Plus, knowing how things go I will be back to do a walkthru when Francois is on vacation, when bombardier is on their summer shutdown.

Hopefully the garbage goals have enough skaters tonight, we have a double header back-to-back. I was looking forward to these games too...

Well, food should be here soon.  And maybe another beer...

First blog from the iPad Air

Lola said I need to keep up the blogs and that was part of the reason why she let me buy my own iPad. I think it was because she wanted to keep hers when I go away for work. Plus, she tends to use hers a lot for work and other things like Trails Manitoba meetings.  So, here is the first blog from the new iPad.

- End of Blog -

Haha just kidding. This workshop / conference in Ottawa should be good. It's the first time this has been held in Canada and is quite related to work.

Plus, Ottawa is a nice city to visit. I've only been here in the winter or late fall. Summer should pose different sights and sounds. Not to mention nicer weather, except maybe for tomorrow which is supposed to be rainy. Oh well, I'm used to that. At least it should be as rainy as this baseball game on TV - in Cleveland, it is sure coming down.

We should be starting our descent soon so I should pack things up. Hope everyone stays cool and dry the next few days.

Until blog #2...

July Looooong Weekend

Well it has been quite the rainy weekend so far but it has been pretty good.

- Friday night poured on us just as we were about to eat at Aunty Marge and Uncle Bobs retirement party.
- Rained so much in a short period of time in Morden that the street flooded
- And now that we are at the Ninette at the cabin, it has rained off on and on all day, but we successfully completed the rock and roll 1000 piece puzzle in about 8 hours (with breaks for lunch supper and snacks)

Now to eat some dessert and play some games.

Hope you are All keeping dry and safe out there.

Cheers,
Lola

Coolidge hockey

Tonight the Coolidge boys showed up for hockey.

First to score was #10 but not THE #10. Graham teed it up from the blue line and beat the goalie to make the score 3-1.

Then that same shirt #81 (Arizona Adam) took a great pass from his lil brother and put the puck in top shelf off the goalies head. Score: 4-1

We managed to hold on for the win with a score of 4-2.

Coolidge boys with 2/4 of the goals. And 2/2 penalty minutes... Graham...
