Today we got up and had to check out by 10am. So we ate breakfast on the balcony, watched our whales and then checked out just after 9:00, to head to the Ka'anapali Golf Course.
Can you spot the tail? |
Side note: we are also trying to figure out where we stayed on our honeymoon 15 years ago (before we had the blog and we took all our photos by Digital camera not our iPhones (with gps logs). We think maybe it was the place we could see from our balcony, but it will have to wait till we get home and we can look at the scrapbook or photos.
We think it was here, Ka'anapali Shores. |
We packed the car up and had a short drive to the golf course. We decided to do 18 holes since our flight didn't leave till 5:26pm so we had all day. We did the cheaper Ka'anapali Kai Golf course (since there was a more expensive, harder course as well called the Royal Ka'anapali course too).
We also packed some food to eat during "lunch" time as we knew it was going to be through lunch we were playing.
We both had a great time. On the course we saw cats, cardinals, ducks, roosters and hens.
After golf we headed towards the airport, finally stopped at the scenic view point to watch a few whales. AA then took us to Sparky's Food Company for some Hawaiian plate to share to tied us over until we made it to our new hotel in Hilo.
The food was really good. We got gas and headed to the airport.
No issued on our short 27 minute flight over to the Big Island, this time landing in Hilo (vs Kona-Kahulia as we previously were).
Thankfully all our luggage made it on this flight, we got our rental car, and headed to the hotel. A short drive, and once we were there, mandatory Valet parking and we headed to our room to freshen up. We went to the restaurant at the hotel, Ka Lihikai, AA having a burger and Lola with the Island Fish. This wasn't her favourite, but it was ok.
Back at the room, we planned some of our day for tomorrow, and AA went to bed. Lola caught up on the blog.
Good Night Lola.
