Yesterday (Monday) we had a great time snowmobiling. We meet at Whistler village to be shuttled to Callaghan, where we got suited up, picked our sleds and headed out on the trail with our guide. It was so much fun:). Me being the most nervous requested being at the front of the line closest to the guide, Nick. We headed out on the trail, where the first sharp turn I forgot to lean, as well as forgot to take my thumb off the accelerator and got myself into some deep snow. I could drive out, unlike the others in the group, getting stuck and needing to be rescued.
We headed out on a lake where he let us go free. Jamie and I were done in a few minutes as visibility was low and couldn't really see where you were going. The boys had a great time, both Adam and Sean getting stuck on the sides of the lake in large snow banks. After the lake we headed up the mountain. Couldn't go all the way like normal because of avalanche warnings, but made it pretty high. The visibility got worse as we went up, but there was so much fresh powder.
The group at the half way point!
My least favorite part was going over the edge of the mountain (on a trail) to "cut" to the bottom without having to do the switch back. Breaking all the way down and feeling unsure of myself, but made it both times :) we got a ride back to whistler and then walked all the way back up the hill to our condo. The boys had a lot of fun playing with the snow all the way back up.
Today (Tuesday) we had a relaxing day. Slept in, ate breakfast of bacon and eggs and hash browns and the headed into the village to walk around and do some shopping. Walked around the villages, took photos and ate some food.
It snowed a lot today, looks like over a foot!
Olympic Rings in Whistler Village
The whistler village medal pavilion.
We had a good day! Came back to the condo to play a game of Ticket to Ride, where Adam and I won:) now time for some hot tub and supper. Hope all is well back home!
Cheers, Lola
