All I need is one more signature but this letter was the big one signed by the Director General of Transport!

Delivery (originally to be posted on 08 Jul 14)
It finally happened. The medevac airplane is delivering tonight!
I can now retire.
Interesting day
Today was interesting.
It started with an early morning trip to the St Boniface ER. That was a mistake. Not for going but for going there...
They were quite useless and were thinking that the pain in Lola's arm was mostly due to a side effect from the amitryptaline. He prescribed some naproxen to hopefully reduce any inflammation. We drove home at 6:30 and got some rest.
I got up at 9 and went to work for a few hours. I left at noon and went home (after dropping off our life jackets with Graham at his jobs site).
After trying to get Lola to eat, I called health links and asked what we should do because Lola's symptoms were not improving. The nurse told us to go to HSC.
Arrive at HSC at 1:45. Lola gets registered by 2 and we wait. And wait. And wait. Get blood taken. And wait. And wait. And watch the bomber game. And then get to a room to see a Dr.
I write this as Lola is resting
Here is her small IV bag
10 hrs in the hospital gives you a lot of time to reflect on how lucky we are. Our families are pretty normal. No one is crying out that they will die if the don't get their medication. No one is throwing up in the corner of the ER. No one is coming in shirtless for some benign reason. No one is yelling at the charge nurse.
No, we are normal people who have normal jobs and live (somewhat) normal lives. We get to go home to a good home and eat a good meal every day (unless you are traveling whereby you don't get to go home and or you don't get as good of a meal as you hoped). We get to sleep in a comfy bed and don't have to worry (too much) about what might happen next.
Anyways, Lola is waking up and wants to go home. Time to find the nurse to see if she can unhook Lola.

Back East
Today was a relatively busy day. Two inspections before noon and then working from our (empty) Montreal office in the afternoon.
I debated about working from the hotel or the office but figured (rightfully so) that I would be more productive in huge office. Here are some pictures:
Here's the door that decided to lock itself after I went to the washroom without the key. Luckily, the janitor was doing his rounds so I was able to get him to open the door for me. Boy I felt like an idiot.
It rained pretty much all day today, cool and miserable temperature. I decided that I should probably get a haircut as my mop was getting pretty big (fro like).
Well I should cut this short, don't have much else to talk about. It was an early morning after getting in late and trying to fall asleep. It's going to be an early night tonight I think.
Time to talk to Lola and see how she is feeling. She was home again from work today and the Dr told her to stay home for the rest of the week. Hopefully we can figure out what is causing her headaches and nausea...
Later,
AA

Bloggin in Montreal
Lola said I needed to blog. It's hard when you are away for less than 12 hrs...
Today was quick. At the Winnipeg airport at 7:20 am, in Montreal by 11:45 am Montreal time and now at the Montreal airport at 7:50 pm, finishing a smoked meat sandwich ready to return home.
My portion was only delayed 1.75 hrs today. Rui unfortunately took the brunt of it having his test delayed until tomorrow. Darn high frequency communication systems not working correctly.
Tomorrow will be busy. Two of the guys are out of the office from Montreal and so somehow I need to support their projects... We will see what I can do, I have a lot of things to take care of before the next trip (possibly Thursday or Friday, to St. Louis.)
Well I need to get the attention of the bartender to get my bill. My flight leaves in 25 mins.

St Malo Camping Weekend
We met Devin and Melissa in St Malo on Friday night and had a great camping weekend. The weather was warm and the bugs weren't too too bad.
We did a lot of sitting around the camp fire and had some great conversations:)
We played some mini golf (which wasn't in great shape), ate great food and even had some time at the beach.
Can you find devin?
Here was supposed to be a cute photo of Mell and I....
It was a great weekend. Now adam is off to montreal for the day tomorrow and I am back out to Southport!
