Traveling once again

I'm curious how many miles I have traveled this past year?

Montreal - who knows how many times
Peterborough - 3 times
Ottawa - once
Orlando
NYC
Boston
Chicago
Tucson - ???
Switzerland
St. Louis

I guess we know that it is about 2,500 Kms from Winnipeg to Montreal so my car did at least 5k of these travels...

As much "fun" as it is to get to travel all these places, it's still not home. Vacations are better because at least your are with friends or family; for work that's not usually the case.

Don't get me wrong, the people I work with a great people but I usually get to spend at least 8 hrs a day with these people and generally speaking that is good enough ;)

At least this trip is only for 2 weeks with one weekend in between. Hopefully Gwen will be able to come down for the weekend if I can get my proposed expenses approved.

Weather should be good too - in the 30's for the week. Just hot enough for me to sweat... Actually I guess that is any temperature over 20...

Hopefully everyone has a good week back home. Equally I hope my week goes well in the desert.

Off to St. Louis

Too bad this wasn't around a weekend, Gwen tells me I'm only 240 miles from Louisville - I could have visited Eric.

Selling dresses

Well since I'm mostly sitting at the cash box selling dresses I figured I might as well blog a little bit.

10:10 - Gwen's favourite wedding song is playing "I knew the bride when she used to rock and roll". Lol

10:30 - first dress sale!

11:15 - second dress sold!

11:35 - one lady in the store, it's quiet...

12:00 - lunchtime! Back to the Nedohins house.

1:20 - going to change the oil in the van.

2:20 - done!  Only spilled about 50 mL...

3:00 - back to the store. It's quiet again.

4:00 doors shut time to go back to the Nedohins. Will resume tomorrow at 10 am.

Golf

Eric and I went golfing today. I had by far the best game of my career so far. Eric wasn't happy that I beat him on the front 9 but his back 9 par was pretty remarkable. That and his 350 years drive to within 8 yards of the last hole was pretty stellar.

Ps - this is a test to see who actually is still reading the blog ;)

Washington

What a day.

We started our travels at 5:30 am Winnipeg time (getting tot he airport for our 7am flight) and are just getting to the hotel now.

Overall things went well. Flights were on time and we got a rental car (grandpa would be happy, it's a Kia Optima). We arrived in Vancouver at 8:20 and then left for Seattle at 11, arriving at 12:15 or so.

I feel like we have eaten a lot of food - a muffin in Winnipeg, breakfast in Vancouver, lunch (at Dennys) in Seattle and supper (at Outback steakhouse) in Yakima. I don't imagine it will get much better as we are going to the pool party tomorrow where we will have supper and then the wedding will be full of Ukrainian food - at least I hope so, I haven't had perogies and cabbage rolls in a long time.

It hasn't just been travel - we drove through Mount Rainier national park such added maybe an hour to our total today. It was pretty cool seeing the mountain with its snowy top in the summer heat. I think Gwen got some good pictures from the car while we were driving but those will come later.

Oh yeah, it's hot.  100*F in Yakima when we stopped for supper at 6:15. Time for some rest and some local beers that we got at the Safeway.

Busy weekend

Wow the weekend went by fast and now (at 8pm) it's time to relax before another busy week. Here's how the weekend unfolded:

Saturday:
7:45am - go with Eric and Jamie to the St. Norbert farmers market.
9am - go to the mint with Eric and Jamie and take a tour.
11-1230 - go to Eric and Jamie's house, unpack food and then go get beer while Gwen goes for her sugaring session.
12:30 - lunch at Original Joes
1:30 - go to the zoo to see the penguins. It was disappointing, there are so many renovations going on that they have sent some animals away. And they got rid of the gopher exhibit...
4:00 -5:00 - pick up food from our house. I napped for 20 mins.
5:00 - 12:30 - go to Eric and Jamie's for dinner, games and a bonfire.

Sunday:
9am - depart for La Salle to go golfing at Kingswood with E and J.
12:00 - done 9 holes; ladies return to Winnipeg to do some crafting while Eric and I finish the back 9. Total score 106; Eric shot an 85...
2:30 - return to our house. Eric naps while I finish assembling my rc airplane. Now I just need to read how to fly this thing...
4:45-5:15 - E and J leave; Erin, Chris and Kaitlyn arrive for supper.
7:45 - the McCallisters leave with their French student in tow.

The week will not be much easier. I have training all day on Tuesday and then it sounds like I will fly to Peterborough for two inspections on Wednesday. After that I will fly home and start vacation for a few days - we are going (with Brian) to Seattle for another wedding for one of Gwen's relatives.

Hope all is well wherever everyone is these days.
